When I lived in Pennsylvania, I frequented Sugar & Spice as often as I could. The homemade ice cream could not be beat and I loved the relaxed ambience. I actually felt like family. As an added bonus, I could also easily pick up something on the retail side with their cake and candy supplies. Since moving out-of-state, I have come to the conclusion that there is no comparison with the quality of other ice cream shops. Sugar & Spice will always be on my must stop list when I visit my hometown.

Fantastic homemade ice cream

Best in the south hills. Original soda fountain from Joe's place in Mt. Oliver. Huge selection. The ice cream is made right there in the store, everything I have tried is fantastic. They just started making waffle bowls there that really tops it off.

• Cons: Limited parking
