This is one of the best salons I have been to. Although it is a little pricy, its definately worth it. I have to agree with the other review in saying Maureen is the best! She cuts it how you want it.

Best on Earth, seriously

I'm so picky. People used to hide from me when I came from the hairdresser because they never did it right and I'd be crabby. When Paul cut my hair it was like Dorothy walking into Oz. I was thrilled. And every cut has been perfect. Amazing. He has cut my hair at every length over the years and no one has had to hide from me afterward. Ever. I was so lucky when I lived in Pgh. Now I have to fly in from Arizona for my cuts. I'm not kidding. I do not kid about haircuts. I would stand in line in an alley to get a cut from Paul but isn't is nice that I get to enjoy their lovely new, relaxing space. I like it best when John is there because he always cracks me up with his pet stories. Go. You'll be happy.

Chic yet down-to-earth

This is the perfect Pittsburgh salon. You get the latest in styles from top talent without all of the pretension. My time there is more of a meeting with friends than one more chore on my list. Maureen is fantastic. I have never gotten anything but great cuts and color from her for the last four years. My mom and aunt are Maureen converts and devotees as well!

I love my hair

I went to platinum saturday morning where maureen dolan cut and highlighted my hair. She was concerned with my needs and made sure my hair turned out to be everything I desired it to be. Maureen really took care of me and I left Platinum with my hair feeling brand new, along with my attitude. I got red highlights to make my brown hair more lively. Everyone I saw that day complimented it and I was proud to say Maureen did it at Platinum Salon.. I highly recommend this salon and Maureen. I love my hair and it was such a great salon experience

Excellent Cut

I had a great cut from John about two weeks ago. This was my first haircut in the city of Pittsburgh; I just moved here earlier this year. I picked Platinum based on the reviews on this site. Since Platinum didn't have any negative reviews, I figured I'd try it. When I called I told the receptionist (who was very friendly) what kind of hair I have and what kind of cut I wanted (very long hair, wanting it cut to a short bob; also thinking about a body wave) and she suggested John. He's so easy-going, makes you feel very comfortable. He helped me pick the right length for my bob and showed me how to style it. Cut costs $49. The salon has recently moved from its Ellsworth location to Lawrenceville. The new location is a gorgeously renovated building with high ceilings and pretty fixtures. New address: 4731 Butler St. (they have their own parking lot). New phone: 412-682-1600. I would (and will) definitely continue going to John.

best hair cut and color ever

I was looking for a new look and someone told me to go to platium, they do

a great job. So I made an appointment for a cut and color and they recommended

John, they said he is the expert. They were right, he gave me a great cut and

the color and highlights were beautiful. John was very professional and was able

to recommend the right cut and color for my face. I left there feeling like a million

bucks. Thanks John I'll be back

Platinum Salon

Paul is my eye in a storm. No matter what is brewing, my appointment with him is always soothing and uplifting. Whether it's his great touch with color or the latest cut, I always get tons of compliments from friends and acquaintances. Haven't been disappointed in over 15 years and I'm a steady customer every month.

The best hair cut and color I have had in YEARS!

I let my hair go for so many years because I was "too busy" then my mother got sick of my hair and sent me to Paul at Platinum Salon. Paul has fixed years of damage from to many chemicals and bad cuts. I love how he cuts my hair and the color is very natural looking. I recommend Paul to anyone looking for a stylish cut that can go from professional to fun in minutes. Paul and Platinum Salon gets 5 stars in my book!

Great hair salon

I recently moved to the city and needed to find a hair salon. Several co-workers recommended Paul at Platinum so I gave it a try. I have been totally pleased with the experience from the talent to the relaxed atmoshere. Everyone is so friendly and very accommodating. My hair is fine and a great cut makes a tremendous difference. Paul and the salon get my highest recommendations.

Platinum is exquisite! The atmosphere is hip yet relaxed, the staff is friendly, & the quality of work is over the top. I have been a client of Paul for 10 years. He continues to impress me each time he cuts & colors my hair. I have referred many friends to Paul throughout the years & everyone agrees, Paul is the best!

Maureen is the best

I go to Maureen and so do a lot of my friends. She's great. She listens, she wants to make you happy, and she is truly skilled at her craft. She is also totally anti-attitude (ie, she's not one of those hairdressers who always try to prove to you how hip they are... she's just normal and nice and down to earth.)
