I enjoyed the burgers the wait was a little long but not excessive (as the food was great). The staff could smile a little more and this website should not have a minimum of 100 characters.

No joke, the single best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. I mean, it's not even close. Great atmosphere, too.
Pros: food, staff, vibe
Cons: parking is sparse, can get cramped in there

I was a big fan of Tessaro's 20 years ago, and looked forward to eating there when I moved back to Pittsburgh recently. I made sure to go on a Thursday to enjoy their ribs, but I was quite disappointed. The ribs were burnt on the outside, and cold on the inside. They had clearly been cooked in advance, refrigerated, and reheated before serving. I've been there twice in the past year hoping that it was just an off night, but in fact, I find the quality isn't what it used to be.
Pros: Gotta love seeing that hardwood grill fired up in back
Cons: Crowded, sometimes a long wait for a table

Tessaro's has theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee best hamburger i've ever eaten in my life. No other hamburger on the east coast can compare! Of course you can drop by at Wendy's, McDonald's, Red Robin, Fuddruckers or Eatn' Park and grab one of their "prized" hamburgers, however, a Tessaros hamburger cannot be compared to such inferior pieces of meat slapped between mediocore buns. Once you try a Tessaro's hamburger, there's no turning back and every other hamburger tastes...well not what they're supposed to taste like. Bottom line......Tessaro's hamburgers mean BUSINESS. In addition to their hamburgers, their RIBS are top notch!!! Although they are only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they are definitely worth waiting for=) Last but certainly not least, the people working at Tessaro's are very friendly, warm, and helpful.

Sorry - my experience was anything but stellar. Seating was quick, it was late afternoon and they were not busy. After reading reviews here and elsewhere that this was the best burger in the 'Burgh, I had to try it. I ordered it cooked medium. It came out beyond well done. Since I was so hungry, I decided to not send it back. The bun was nearly inedible, with a very tough skin and difficult to bite through, which made the burger and condiments want to squeeze out the back when trying to take a bite! Very lackluster flavoring of the meat - probably because it was a hockey puck. Cardinal sin of ANY beef order - if you ask me how I want it cooked, you had better dang well cook it that way! If not, what's the point in asking? The home fries were nothing of the sort - more like mush that had been sitting on the grill soaking up grease for far too long. Even the soda pop lacked any fizz. Maybe it was an off day, but I've had better tasting burgers from Johnny Rockets. Now, if you want a GREAT burger, head to Mt. Lebanon and try the original Atria's!
Pros: None
Cons: Parking, cook it the way THEY want

My boyfriend and I went to Tessaro's on a Monday afternoon based on the great reviews about their burgers and salads. No joke, this place has absolutely the best hamburger. It is a half pound of perfectly cooked, juicy, meaty perfection. The only thing that matched to delicious burger was the service and atmosphere. Tessaro's is a classic corner bar where the food and people are honest and inviting. We had a great time chatting it up with Suzy and the owner Kelley. Their hospitality was second to none. For luch, we started with a salad and chili. The salad had an amazing, chucky, homemade blue cheese dressing that was super yummy, and the salad was a fresh. The chili had more of a sweet tang to it, which was fine... but I would never choose it over the burger. The burger was served on a roll that actually had flavor and texture...not a piece of tasteless cardboard. The cheese was minimal, but that's ok, it would be criminal to cover up the taste of the burger. Did I say the burger was AWESOME!!! We chose potato salad and home fries as sides. They were ok, but no outstanding. The beer flowed at a great pace and the meal, overall, was awesome. You cannot go wrong if you want a great burger at a super friendly bar!
Pros: Best Burger, Great Staff

I've been to Tessaro's several times and absolutely love their burgers - to me there's no better anywhere. I also love the potato salad. But...I don't agree with their seating policy. It should be first come first seated! If I'm a party of two and arrive before a party of three and one table opens up - if that table can fit more than two they get the table, not me. I'm forced to wait for a table that won't be "wasted" on my measly party of two. The last time that happened I took my business down the street to Dells instead.
Pros: Great Burgers & Steak
Cons: unfair seating policy, no waiting area, crowded tables

Absolutley the best burgers in Pittsburgh!!! They are well worth the wait to get into the restaurant. They also have fabulous "huge" salads like Elaine ordered on Seinfield. They have several good beers on tap. It is a great restaurant to visit with friends and worth the drive. Take your appetite!!

My husband and I stopped by Tessaro's on a recent Friday night. We were seated withon 40 minutes (not bad for a Friday night with a Pitt game on) and had the BEST burgers! If you don't like it burnt on the outside (I don't) ask for NO CHARR! I did and they were happy to accomodate me! The place NEVER disappoints!
