I first went to Cara at Denham and Co. to chop off my long hair for Locks of Love. I was very nervous about it and she made me feel wonderful. She spent a lot of time discussing with me what I wanted my new short cut to look like and what would work with my hair. At the end of the cut she had me check out the cut from every angle and made any changes I wanted...she also showed me how to style it. Losing all my hair was an enjoyable experience. I have gona back to Cara numerous times and each time she has been equally attentive. As the whole I have found the salon employees to be friendly and helpful, salon prices are reasonable and the place is clean (unlike many salons I have been to).
Pros: downtown location, good hours
Cons: parking, market square location

On my first visit at Denham I was impressed with my hair cut, color and wax. The total cost was reasonable for the services. On my second visit, I was satisfied with my color BUT deeply saddened by my hair cut. The stylist attempted to put layers in my long hair, but LACKED the skill to do so. My hair did not appear to have layers at all, but choppy sections of hair that DID NOT flow smoothly together. Sections of my hair flipped out in various locations in blunt shapes. At the end of the visit I was charged the same as I was on my first visit, but I had fewer services. This made no sense to me and I was not bale to get a clear answer as to why. All-in-all, anyone can be a colorist BUT not everyone can be a stylist.

I felt really comfortable here. My beautician did a great job on my eyebrow waxing and my haircut. And I love the atmosphere!

I'm sorry to hear that the first reviewer had a bad experience. I have been going to Denham and Co. for years and my experiences have always been great. In fact, a co-worker and I liked Denham and Co. so much that we suggested it to other friends and now many of those friends (men and women) and their friends go to Denham and Co. to see Dan (who does an amazing job). As far as late appointments go, I do know that Denham and Co. is popular in the evenings and on weekends and the appointments fill up early. In my experience, when it happens - which is not very often, I feel that it is worth the wait if the stylists are running a little late. I hope that hearing about one bad experience won't keep anyone from trying Denham and Co. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I have never had such a terrible experience.I waited for 3 hrs for an appointment of several services and only 1 was completed.Then, I was called by the owner accusing me of non-payment and further he went on to riducule and degrade me as an indivdual, he even went so far as stating I was a bad mother.I have never experienced such unprofessionalism, been so humiliated, or been treated by such a demeaning manner.
Pros: aveda products
Cons: ownership/staff, professionalism, customer satisfaction
