Geri truly gives the best haircut in the city of Pittsburgh. They are always perfect, and they really last! She is also great with color. I love the shop and the view. I highly recommend Spa Uptown. Kim Pope

This is my first visit to this spa and I would definately go back..and recommend it to others! Dana did a pedicure for me -- she's GREAT. I'm going back for a manicure next. What is included in this spa pedicure is often 'extra' other places so that was an added bonus! They have a pedicure room, which I enjoyed. The place is clean, up-to-date and easy to find. The front desk staff is not friendly (in person or on the phone) so don't ask them too many questions - but (surprisingly) I find this to be true in a lot of local salons.

Pros: Dana is the reason I would return -

Cons: unfriendly front desk staff is a turn-off - Parking is a pain (but that's true anywhere downtown)

THIS IS A GREAT SALON! I've been looking for a new salon and found some reviews on Spa Uptown on this citysearch. I figured I'd give them a try. I got an appointment with Izaer, a co-owner and nothing less than fabulous, as I would come to learn. The salon itself is stylish, bright and open, upscale and modern. The staff members each are courteous, smiling, delightfully stylish in there own right ---- and all had great hair (both men and women alike). Izaer took the time to listen carefully to my wants and expectations, formulate an idea and plan and worked with me to give me a great color and cut. I had a great time while I was there, the atmosphere is fun and the staff have a great time with the customers. I can tell you when I was done, I gave Izaer a hug and told him that I am a definite return customer!! 10 THUMBS UP! :-)

Pros: Fantastic place

Cons: On the costly side, but you get your money's worth.

I am a college student at Pitt, and I went to the spa for my first time this April. I've always wanted to get my hair straightened but I didn't think it was possible, my hair is crazy curly and thick. I had the owner (Jerri, not sure of the spelling) for my services, she was AMAZING! She was very polite, and took a lot of care and put a lot of thought into every step of the process. She straightened my hair with the Unreel Straightening System, and then gave me a designer haircut. This is the first time I've ever had short hair and I LOVE it! I'm going to go back to get some color and highlights put into my hair. The Spa is an amazing place.

Pros: Amazing services and employees

Cons: Price

had my hair cut and colored today with kim, the color is amazing and i have never had someone pay so much attention to detail in every step of the way through the entire process. blondes are her thing, and i will certainly spread the word about the amazing experience i had with her. she brings professionalism and personality in all that she does. this girl is brilliant with color, i just cant say enough good things about my experience!!!!

I was at the spa yesterday and had a fabulous time! The atmosphere is calming and clean. I had the power peel and had an excellent experience. I'm already booking more services there for my upcoming birthday!

My daughter and I recently had our hair colored and cut by Rachel. It was a wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We will continue going to Spa Uptown and to Rachel.

Cons: Because it is downtown, you have to pay for parking.

Spa Uptown is the best salon I have ever been to in my life. I have been going to this spa for almost a year now and cannot imagine going anywhere else. Shayla is a fantastic hair stylist. Everyone that works at the spa has great customer service, as soon as you come in the door they are asking you if you need help with something( and believe me that doesn't happen anywhere else). I've always had a pleasant experience when I leave there, Deborah is great, I love the way she does my eye lashes and she shows such fabulous interest in what she is doing. I have recommended this spa to everyone I know, this is one place where everyone makes you feel comfortable and that is so important. Thank you so much Spa Uptown for your great service, especially thanks to Shayla.

I had my hair colored at Uptown Salon. It had everything from blonde to patches of black in it. It was supposed to be one color - light brown - close to my natural color. I had my hair colored at other salons for years before I went to this salon (based on a recommendation), and never had any problems with color before. I returned to the salon so someone else could fix the color disaster, but it became very dry and overprocessed.

Cons: lack of knowledgeable/friendly staff, parking, appointment availability
