Too Lenient and Very Bad Tempered.. I really did not like this hospital. My friends and I had come to this hospital upon hearing we would be taken to safety in Riverside. Now, I thought the Green Flu would only pass. Turns out, it only got worse, and it was efficient for us to get to a safe zone. Upon going through an apartment building, the subway, and the sewers, we managed to get into a nice safe room, which was set with health kits, and oddly enough: weapons. First off, it seems the pharmacists there were not too good at prescriptions, because there were pills everywhere. I found quite a few just sitting on benches in subways and even found one next to a dead guy in the sewers. Upon going to the rooftop where the radio to call for rescue was, we met the doctors, nurses, and patients. Some patients were just, well, on the floor, motionless, and as we were being very polite people, the occupants of this hospital screamed and clawed at us like ferocious beasts. Also, the doctors apparently aren't very good ones, because one doctor was definitely on steroids, and he had quite a temper. I have never seen a doctor pick up the floor. He really did.

We finally got to the rooftop, and found the radio. First off, it's very dangerous for the construction workers to be working up there in rain; it was very easy to slide off the roof and fall hundreds of feet, and all they cover it with is caution tape? My friend Francis almost fell off the roof from that. In that case, I don't blame his hatred for hospitals.

The only thing I liked about this hospital is the free pills I got.

Terrible ER Doctor. In November of 2001, I was involved in a serious auto accident that resulted in a crush injury to my foot and ankle; both of which would have had to be amputated, had it not been for my husband lying to get me back into the hospital the next day, after they had released me on the assumption that I was only suffering from a broken ankle! As it was a Monday (I was on my way to work when the accident occurred), they originally would not have been able to get me back into the hospital until Friday, to assess my so-called "broken ankle". Thank God for my husband, who also knew that it was not a "broken ankle", but a crush injury to every part of my foot, but the toes -- as well as to my ankle. Later, I was to find out that my foot was so messed up, that they couldn't determine anything at the time, because the x-rays came out "fuzzy" (or so they described it). Once my husband did get me back to the hospital, they got me a hospital room. One doctor after another came into the room, would look at it and tell me that it would need to be amputated, because of the amount of blood blisters that had accumulated over the period of time that it took me to get admitted into the hospital. Because of the negligence exhibited by the ER doctors, it could have cost me my lower leg, until my orthopaedic surgeon came into my room on the fourth day I was there. He took an extensive look at it and determined that my foot and ankle could be saved. So they kept me in the hospital for 3 weeks before the fracture blisters finally subsided and they could then do surgery on my leg. Thank goodness for the normal doses of Heparin, antibiotics and some other meds that they administered to me. I actually had to go through a series of 5 surgeries over the period of the next 5 months, after which I went through rehab for another 6. In early 2007, I had to go through yet another surgery on my foot, due to bones that were not fusing properly (they had to go in, rebreak those bones and fuse them together correctly). That particular surgery was done by another hospital, since my orthopaedic surgeon by that time, had transferred to another hospital to work in cooperation with his brother and another orthopaedic expert. Thank God for those two doctors. Although it may not be much to them, they were the ones who saved my foot and gave me the ability to walk again.

Kept getting eaten. Well,it was a hospital so it needed pillz, and then this group of four broke in and stole me and all my friends, and instead of using regular dosage, they would just take the whole bottle and toss us on the floor, the floor was covered in my friends empty body, the black guy was the worst,no racism intended but he ate millions of pills, and he wouldn't stop, they were all a little crazy and started killing the patients and workers screaming "ZOMBIES!!!" and "INFECTED!!!" they lit rubbing alcohol on fire to make molotovs and were shooting up the patients like crazy, and this one guy, this guy who was constantly working out,got shot by a stray bullet, and he got really angry, but they kept on shooting and killed him,it was awful

"IF YOU CAN HEAR THIS, PROCEED TO MERCY HOSPITAL..". "IF YOU CAN HEAR THIS, PROCEED TO MERCY HOSPITAL FOR EVACUATION." When my three friends and I heard the helicopter pilot shout this as he flew overhead, we were thrilled at the chance of finally being rescued. Y'see, things haven't been so good the past two weeks, what with the Green Flu, and the fact that it's geting tougher and tougher to find a cigarette. So we immediately made our way to the Red Line station a few blocks away, traveled through it to the sewer, and from there went to Mercy Hospital. Sure, the weather was bad, and sure, the horde of the undead that rushed out of the front door was a bit of a bad sign, but we were all ready for a good rest in the complimentary saferoom.

The first thing I noticed about this place was that they kept firearms all over the place. Being a 'Nam vet, I'm not going to complain about a free assault rifle, but it could be a hazard to children. Secondly, there were multitudes of pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails. Again, not going to complain, but still, odd for a hospital. My friend Louis was thrilled to learn they had pain pills. Louis always seems to love pain pills.

The hospital staff was not very helpful at all, and even though we were very calm and polite, the just screamed and tried to claw at us. When we finally found a doctor, he merely vomited on my friend Zoey and ran away. Then a sad nurse attacked Francis, at which point I agreed with his statement of 'I HATE hospitals."

Soon, we made it to the top, and found a radio to let the pilot know he could pick us up, but soon after, waves of zombies attacked us. We were able to defend ourselves and escape, but our pilot is acting rather strangely. I have to go. I think he might be infecte

Absolutly HORRIBLE ICU. My mom had surgical complications and was life flighted to Mercy. They left her struggling in ER for 2 hours before taking her to ICU. It took 13 hours to get an MRI to find out why she was having seizures. They couldn't find anything by that time, so they were sending her home 2 days later. The day I went to pick her up, from floor 7, there were 4 people (a dr, an intern, & 2 nurses), sitting on their asses in her room staring at her like she was a science project in between dicussing their favorite grocery stores and my mom was having a partial seizure. It had been going on for 4 hours and NOONE called a family member to tell of the change. I was told they were waiting for ICU to treat her. The woman was IN THE HOSPITAL and it took 4 hours to go 3 floors to ICU.

Once she got there, the nurses there were TERRIBLE! They would come and pick and gag her while they were suctioning her vent when she was asleep and never tell her what they were doing. One day, in a 7 hour stretch of time, the nurse was in her room twice.....patients should be turned every 2 hours, she was NEVER turned every 2 hours. It got to the point where I had to tell them (when I could find them) she needs turned so I'm going to go eat, make a phone call, etc so you can do that. They sedated her for any and every probem she had. They did it to her for high blood pressure, muscle twitching, breathing problems, heart rate problems...whatever ailes you, they will give you Adavan. Some of them were ignoring doctor orders on her blood pressure perimeters, telling me it could go to 180! When they couldn't control it , they would just raise her limit to make it easier for them. It started at 120, then 140, and when they couldn't keep it there, they allowed her to go to 160 (stage 2 hypertension). One day the machine was reading her blood pressure to be in 70s and 80s, so they gave her a TON of fluids to bring it up. The next day they put an line in to read it more accuratly, her blood pressure was 180!

Aside from them not being able to control her blood pressure, she was doing well. Keep in mind, they were giving her tons of fluids the whole time she was there because they couldn't get it under control. The day they had decided to move her to a rehab facility, she was having problems breathing and blood pressure, heart rate problems, and INSTEAD of figuring out why, (the nurse was more interested in flirting with someone in street clothes standing at a nurse's computer), they kept her sedated for 5 hours and released her anyway. I asked 3 different people to speak to a doctor THREE times, I was told he knew I wanted to speak with him, he never spoke to me. It turns out she was going into congestive heart failure, (caused by fluids and uncontrolled blood pressure) and they released her. Immediately prir to going to Mercy, she was told her heart muscles were strong but the ICU could never gether blood pressure under control. Nice job ICU!

If anyone you know is ever critical, stay away from Mercy! If you have to go there, make sure you have a lot of family members there and document EVERYTHING!

Not that bad. I don't know why everyone has such bad reviews about this place. I found the staff to be quite courteous. Okay, the nursing staff were adamant at scratching and clawing at people, but we deserved it.

I went there to take care of a hangnail, and the process took an understandable 7 hours. There were doctors everywhere, but they were just as lazy as the rest of us are on a regular basis. I spent 3 hours in my examination room before my doctor first showed up. He was 800 pounds, had one eye, a hook for a hand and smelled like tuna and cinnamon rolls.

The hook was cold as he shoved it up my ass which was wierd because I'd already had a prostate exam a few weeks ago, but I'm not the type of person to question things.

He had that thing up my butt for a good hour before he was called to another room. As he picked up his shotgun, he told me in a horrible accent that he'd be back. That's fine, because I'm very patient.

Hour 6.75 he returned as he said he did with the nursing staff who had molotov cocktails in their claws. Without a word, they began launching their parcels at me as the doc unloaded his shotgun.

I bolted out of there, and as I ran a piece of buckshot cleared my hangnail like magic. Thanking the staff as I bursted through the glass doors which took too long to open from the get-go, they waved back and told me to come again as the miniguns on the roof unloaded at me.

I loved it there. I think I'll go back when I'm due for a prostate exam sometime tomorrow.

Bad place for a vasectomy. "Honey...it's time you got a vasectomy." Those simple words from my wife led me to Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. Little did I know what I was in for. The check-in should have been a tip off (no pun intended). There were two women and a man behind the counter. The woman were very sweet, but the man kept pointing to the door and silently mouthing "Run" every time the women weren't looking at him. I just thought he was nuts and proceeded to the outpatient operation room.

The walls in that room were covered with bloody writing. "Leave now!" one scribe had written. "They're going to cut it off" said another. Stupid me.

After what seemed like an eternity the "doctor" came in. He kind of looked like Tommy Chong and it was clear he was wasted. His thick beard and glasses obscured his features so I couldn't really get a handle on where he was coming from. He kept muttering something about "Stumpy". Again it seems obvious now but what was I to know.

In between incoherent ramblings I finally figured out that he kept repeating "Drop your pants".

"Well, he's the doctor", I said to myself. So I dropped trou. It was difficult to get off the chain mail armor I had been wearing under my clothes but after a brief struggle I was successful.

In the meantime the doctor had fallen asleep...again! I chuckled because he kept scratching his head with the scalpel while asleep. Big hunks of hair went tumbling from his head every time he did.

After he woke up he seemed a little startled at his surroundings. I gently reminded him that I was here for a vasectomy. As soon as I said that he cackled gleefully and rubbed his hands together. I think he was actually drooling.

He began to lower the scalpel. At this point I had begun to suspect that maybe things weren't quite what they seemed. I was almost ready to pull up my pants and go when the door banged open and 4 or 5 orderlies came rushing in.

"Doctor Jones," said the first one man (a burly black man) through the door, "We have an emergency we need you to attend to."

Without a word he wheeled out of the room and the orderlies followed. The door banged shut, leaving me alone once again.

Hours passed. I occupied my time by removing the ceiling tiles and examing the ductwork. If you could review a hospital based on ductwork then this hospital would for sure come out on top...they were a cut above! Again, no pun intended.

My watch read 11 PM and I was ready to pack it in. I stood up and reached for the door handle. It was almost in my hand when the door came banging open again. ..and I felt a spasm of pain "down there". The curved door handle had managed to snag my foreskin and ripped it clean off! Unfortunately it took more along with it. Blood spurted everywhere.. All I could think of was to grab my crotch. Whew...this is a long review so far. I'll finish up tomorrow...I have to go change my bandage.

Grabbin Pillz. Well, I just wanted a bandaid. Turns out, they were out... but they had backpack medkits, piles of weapons ammunition, beer & liquor with rags hanging out of them, and a few other odd devices. oooh and them pills!

All I wanted though, was a bandaid for a papercut. I happened to be near Mercy Hospital and figured that I'd go in there... why not. Turns out, I'm getting slashed by invisible people, some weirdos trying to put his tongue on me, a fat guy keeps showing his belly button, this scrawny woman wearing hanes her way won't stop crying abut the fat guy puking on her, some huge guy with his tongue hanging out with very small legs is on a roid rage, and this guy Louis won't stop complaining. this old guy has a cigarette permanently lit which is amazing. This biker dude who looks like Chuck Liddell is naming everything he hates. All the while Zoey keeps giving me this look. She's some inner nerd but that all changed when all the sudden she drops her pants, bends over, slaps her cheeks, and told me she needs some healing, to cover her. Well the others didn't find it too funny when we took the elevator without them, you know so we could disco dance in the middle and then have some private action.

Great news, there were turret mini-guns on the roof top. Not too sure why, but all I can say is.. ZOEY IS A FREAK. But I gave her what she wanted, now we're just chilling and writing this review. 5 stars! Better than matchDOTcom!
