User Reviews for Squirrel Hill Flower Shop

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

The flowers that the Squirrel Hill Flower Shop put together for a centerpiece that I ordered are the best quality that I have seen in all of Pittsburgh. Not only have I switched flower shops, I buy from them weekly. Ronna, Robin, and Debbi are extremely helpful and the most friendly people I know in the business. I highly recommend this flower shop to anyone that wants beautiful, quality flowers!

Pros: Convenience, Easy location, VERY helpful owners and employees

Since Shackelford and Maxwell's recently went out of business, you really have two options for flowers on Squirrel Hill: Squirrel Hill Flower Shop and Oliver Flowers, within a block of each other. Since I had no experience with either, I selected Squirrel Hill Flowers because it involved taking fewer turns on the way back from work. I wanted a wrist corsage for my date for a night at the symphony, which seemed simple enough. For $25 I was to get a wrist corsage with four peach-colored roses. In fact, after arriving at home I found that I had been given only the three-rose size at the four-rose price. Further, I found the construction to be rather sloppy for several reasons: in the past, when I'd purchased wrist corsages they came with real foliage and a lace wrist strap to match the roses. In this display, I received a clunky white velcro strap (thankfully my date was wearing a white jacket to match), obviously fake foliage, and its construction was such that the central metal support showed from the side. It looked like the white and metal bracelets they issue at hospitals, except with a flower display on the top. It was nice enough to give to her to wear, but definitely was not up to my expectations. In the future, I think I would go with Oliver Flowers on Forbes instead.

Pros: Staff was helpful when making my order

Cons: Order was incorrect, foliage was fake, construction was sloppy

Ronna is wonderful to work with! She really helped us stay within our budget without sacrificing style.
