My parents (now deceased) raised me on pepperoni pizza from della sala's. It was run by a lovely couple who became friends with my parents. That was over 35 years ago. I grew up and moved to Montana and would make sure to stop in everytime I came back for a visit. I finally settled in a suburb of Cleveland and every year I make two or three trips in just for the pizza (250 miles round trip) My friends called me crazy until I brought them back a few pieces. Now they ask me to bring them back 1/2 cooked pizzas when I go in for a visit. I end up buying 10 or 12 full 16 cut pizzas and hauling them back to Ohio. I will do this until the day I die. The most succulent, tasty, glorious food taste that anyone could want to experience. Being raised Catholic I am going to pay for my gluttonous sins because of this pizza but I do not care, so long as I can get a few slices in the next life.
Pros: simply the best ever
Cons: Parking to get the pizza

Born in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and raised on Della Sala's pizza, now living in South Daytona Beach, wishing there was a Della Sala's chain here. They have the best dang pizza in the world. I even called and asked if I could get it airmail here. I miss that pizza so bad, I dream about it, my taste budz are just a watering for it, If you read this and have never been there GO. The crust is to die for, light sauce and real and I mean real mozzerella cheese and the hot sausage, there's no other like it. If anyone from Della Salas reads this and wants to open a chain here in Daytona Beach, look me up. susan.irwin@news-jrnl
Pros: That I got to experience this place growing up
Cons: That I live so so so far away from there

Ohhhh booooooyyyyy! I like it! This is the best pizza around...definately! Just tried it last week and blew my mind away! Better than any pizza joint in the Burgg! The scrumptious combo of mozzarella and luscious meat selections just melt and boil with tempation in my mouth!!!! The sauce is better than my grandma's homemade from Sicily! (God bless her)
Pros: Good stuff
Cons: Sticky

BORN AND RAISED IN PENN HILLS.GREW UP ON DELLA SALAS PIZZA. I NOW LIVE IN MASS, BUT STILL GET BACK TO THE BERG AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. FIRST STOP DELLA SALA'S. ALLWAYS BRING AT LEAST A HALF DOZEN HALF BAKED HOME WITH ME. FILL THE FREEZER. GOOD FOR A MOUNTH OR SO!!!!! WILL BE BACK IN SEPT,WITH FRIENDS. GUESS WERE THE FIRST STOP WILL BE????. IM GLAD I HAVE A TRAILOR TO PULL BEHIND MY HARLEY, SO I CAN BRING MORE HOME WITH ME! MAYBE ILL MAKE IT A EVEN DOZEN THIS TIME, THAT SHOULD LAST A COUPLE OF MOUNTHS. ALSO THE PARKING IS NO PROBLEM, YOU JUST BLOCK VERONA ROAD, NO PROBLEM!!!!
Pros: BEST PIZZA IN TOWN

While growing up there was pizza and there was Della Sala's. A tiny house turned into a pizza shop, you would miss it if yo didn't know where you were going. They have the best crust, sauce and sausage I've had on a pizza. There is nothing better than sitting down for a Steeler's game with 10 pieces of double sausage and a beer. heaven.
Pros: sausage, crust, inexpensive
Cons: parking

Dad was a steel worker so pizza wasn't a meal in the 60's. It was always a treat after a Penn Hills Football game to go to Della Sallas or to have it for your birthday party. Now in my 50's it is nostalgic and still as delicious as ever not too much sauce but a generous amount of spice and lots of cheese and a crust to die for. The crust is thick but light is that is possible. And it is impossible to wait until you get home to dig into the first piece. My family always notices one piece missing when at home.
Pros: not too filling, smells wonderful, great cold in the AM
Cons: always eat to much

hard to find on verona road, a little hole in the wall, very small and thats gets crowded fast on weekends, only takeout, whole pizzas or slices; but, this is the best pizza I've had on the whole east coast. best crust, sauce, and aside from mushrooms (they use canned), toppings. Incidentially, the Della Sala's has changed nothing since the mid-sixties. nostalgia? a little.
Pros: excellent crust, excellent sauce, excellent toppings
Cons: hard to find, very small, poor parking
