Better quality sushi may be found elsewhere

If you want great sushi, try another place. The Korean chirashi I ordered was comprised of what seemed to be scraps of fish not used for nigiri; the fish itself was sinewy and not the quality to which I am accustomed. I paid 16.95 for this dish and got very little fish at all. I also ordered some very good maki called "sunkist". I would recommend it, but only for those who like at least a 5 on a "spicy hot" scale of 1-10. Compared to Tabasco, I found it to be spicier. Overall, even though I got very good and friendly service, at those prices I expect better quality and more fish.
- Pros: out of the way location, quiet
- Cons: prices are high for the quality offered

BEST SUSHI EVER

Koto Buki is by far the best kept secret in Pittsburgh. They have the best spicy tuna and the best ginger dressing by far. Not to mention the freshest sushi. The atmosphere is wonderful and Mr. & Mrs. Cho are great! Even though they are extremely busy they always take the time to greet their customers upon entering and exiting. There is something for everyone - their tempura is the best, all of their teriyaki dishes are excellent and their Sukiyaki is fantastic (the best I've ever had). I have been a customer of Koto Buki's for over 10 years now and will continue. Actually going there tonight!
- Pros: Food, Parking, Ambience, Service
- Cons: None
Disappointing meal

My family was disappointed. My steak was undercooked, the tempura was bland and the chicken with mustard dish tasted like all they did was use basic yellow mustard. Needs spicing up! On top of that, my son got a different dish than what he had ordered. The sushi was good, but that's not all we went for. I will not be going back.

I love Koto-Buki because its almost a hidden retreat!
The sushi is fantastic, always fresh, and affordable. Its BYOB which I love, so make sure you bring your favorite bottle of wine!
Their ginger salad dressing is to-die-for! Its become so popular that they now bottle and sell it (I get some wverytime I go). This Miso soup is light and refreshing, and the dinner menu ranges from traditional japanese, to the something for the first-timer!
Treat yourself and find this hidden gem- it will be worth your while!
- Pros: The food is far above average!
- Cons: Its off the beaten-path

This restaurant serves the best sushi and Japanese food in the area by far. It's a family owned business that uses the highest quality ingredients to guarantee excellent food every time. I would definitely recommend the soft shell crab rolls and the steak teriyaki. Also good is their udon and sukiyaki.

Kotobuki has, in addition to a fantastic sushi bar, excellent traditional dinners and entrees. The chef, Debbie Cho, specializes in sauces and dressings. Even better, Kotobuki is again open for lunch six days a week! It is a BYOB restaurant, but there is no corkage fee.
- Pros: great parking, EXCELLENT sushi, friendly servers

The food here is great. They serve some of the best sushi in the Pittsburgh area. Although they are no longer open for lunch, it is worth the trip to Allison Park for their food.
