I live in Pittsburgh and had a surprise vacation planned for my boyfriend's birthday in Ohio. I NEVER board our dog, and spent a significant amount of time finding a kennel and hotel in Ohio with lots of special ammenities. The day of the trip, around 3:30 pm, I called the kennel and said, "I'm pushing time, I just wanted to make sure you closed at 5:00 pm." The woman replied, "We actually close at 5:30 pm to make sure the dogs are all settled in." I told her I was running late, but I was definately coming. I didn't want them to leave early. The woman was understanding and knew who I I was from previous conversations. There was crazy, unexpected traffic on our drive there. Paranoid about time, I called them again at 5:30 pm, and received their voicemail, where it said they were open till 5:30 pm, but currently closed and to leave a message. I frantically said my name and phone number, telling them I was on my way. We arrived at 6:00 pm and there was no one around anywhere! THEY CLOSED AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO EVEN CALL ME!!!!!! THEY COULD HAVE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME NOT TO COME. Instead, my boyfriend and I spent a good half hour in the rain knocking on all the different building doors on the property, hoping to find someone. We wasted at least 1.5 hours of time trying to drop our dog off at this kennel. Then, I had to figure out what to do with my dog considering the hotel we were staying at didn't accept pets. I called our hotel and asked them about kennels near them. This town was in the middle of nowhere and I doubted any kennel would be open past 7:00 pm which was the earliest we would arrive there. The hotel ended up making an acception for us and allowed us to bring our dog. DOESN'T RUSTIC RIDGE REALIZE THAT PEOPLE BOARD THEIR DOGS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO KEEP THEM? CLEARLY THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS ABOUT HOW CLOSING AND NOT CALLING ME WOULD AFFECT OUR VACATION. I'M BAFFLED AT THEIR RUDENESS AND DISINTEREST IN OBTAINING A NEW CLIENT.

Pros: They know how to lock their doors

Cons: THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS
