Dance Lessons NYC for Weddings

Between the dingy, dirty enviroment, excessive noise & dogs (!), it was not the place my future wife wanted to learn how to dance our first dance.

Pros: Cheap price

Cons: creepy enviroment, distractions (dogs, loud music, etc.)

My fiance & I learned, however the many distractions (BARKING DOGS, KARATE CLASS BEING HELD IN THE NEXT ROOM & TRUMPET/PIANO PRACTICE) prevented what should have been an experience of a lifetime into a 'we can get past these distractions' event...If I had to do it again...AVOID!!!!...the miscommunication/arguement about the best time that should be was THE WORST!!!!....the low price for their service is what you get....AVOID UNLESS YOU HAVE A STRONG STOMACH!

Pros: Low Price

Cons: Barking Dogs...Distracting noises within the studio (Karate, Musical)

Kerensa was an awesome instructor! A week before our wedding, she was able to give us the basic tools to let us feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Of course we put in the practe afterward, but everything worked out perfectly! Kerensa was professional and put us at ease from the start. She walks you through everything and takes into account your dance experience (or lack thereof ). I highly recommend her!

Pros: Professional and positive, no pressure

Kerensa is great! My fiance was very reluctant to go to lessons, but based on the fact that they were private lessons in a private room, he agreed to go. After the first 5 minutes, I knew we made the right choice; especially when my fiance agreed to sign up for a few more lessons. Kerensa is calm and professional and there's no need to feel embarrassed. We may not look like Fred and Ginger on the dance floor, but at least we won't be doing the eighth grade sway for our first dance.

Pros: private lesson, private room, dance tailored to you and your song

I have to say we had a great experience with the dancing lessons here. We took the five lesson package and then added two more on after that, and that seemed to be just the right amount that we needed to get ready for the wedding dance. Our teacher Kerensa was very patient and made it fun. Definitely recommend it to anyone who needs help with the wedding dance. A++++++

Wow I have to say I was really impressed... I am Latin and love to dance but my husband of seven years was a typical white guy when it came to dancing, basically he didn't have any rhythm and looked really stiff on the dance floor, he could not 'groove' at all. So against his will I signed him up for ten lessons with Karensa, and oh my god she is a miracle worker!!! He actually has moves now and can hear the beat finally, I am so proud of him! I can dance with him now in public and enjoy it, when we are at other people's weddings. People have actually come up to us and complimented us on our dancing, something I never dreamed would happen. We learned three different Latin styles- salsa, merengue, chacha. We plan on going back to learn some other ones soon. I definitely can recomend this teacher to others, after seeing what she was able to get MY husband to do!

Pros: easy to understand, good teacher, fun

This was the best part of our week leading up to the wedding. Kerensa is nice, patient, and fun. We brought our song and in a few bars she recommended the Rumba, and each week we learned something new and reviewed what we had learned. We really enjoyed the lessons, and the result was by all accounts very good (after only 5 lessons). I had no previous dance lessons, and this made me think about taking some more just for fun. Thanks Kerensa!

This was a great place to take dance lessons for our wedding, we were very happy and learned a lot in a short time. We had a great instructor (she was very patient with us- and with our 4 left feet!) Highly recommend going here if you are getting married and need help with the dancing. Our wedding dance went very well and we got lots of compliments on our dancing. Some people said we looked like we had been dancing together for years (actually we only had 5 lessons to prepare!). A+

I signed up my fiancee and myself for the 5 lesson package and was amazed at how good we looked by then end, highly recommend it! Teacher was awesome.

I was so confused about which dance studio to go to to get ready for our wedding dance, so basically I just randomly picked one near my office (using the zip code search), and I am so glad I wound up picking this one! I really feel lucky that we found such a great teacher (Kerensa), after hearing some horror stories from my friends about nazi-esque instructors they had encountered at other dance studios. Our teacher here was soooo nice, so patient, and really made it a very pleasant experience for us, plus the facility was clean and had nice decor. Not to mention our friends were really impressed with our dancing at the wedding. Our families were particularly surprised, since they have known us both to be total klutzes up until now. So I definitely have to give this place 'two thumbs up'.
