Cannot say enough about Bossa Nova!! Visited Pitts in Oct 2007 and ate there twice. The food is amazing and extremely well priced. The sushi is amazing, and being from Vancouver, we know sushi. All the tapas are delicious and beautifully presented. The same goes for the main courses. We had various plates and none disappointed us. The drinks are very creative and inexpensive. What we really enjoyed were the friendly staff and management. They made us feel welcome and our server remembered our cocktails when we came back the second time!! The decor and art work are modern trendy and inviting (local artists are displayed). Thank you Robin and your staff we will definately return!!!

Pros: Service, prices, ambience, prices

Cons: absolutely none

WE ATTENDED THE GATHERING WITH pri12579....SHE WAS WAY OUT OF LINE AND REALLY OBNOXIOUS WITH THE STAFF AND ANYONE THAT WOULD LISTEN TO HER. SHE WAS LIKE A STAR STRUCK FAN WHEN SHE NOTICED SOME PLAYERS WERE THERE. ONE OF OUR FRIENDS WENT AND APOLOGIZED TO THE OWNER FOR HER BEING SO RUDE. WE CAN ASSURE YOU, WE WILL BE SIPPING MARTINIS AND ENJOYING THE GREAT FOOD AT BOSSA NOVA THIS WEEKEND, WITHOUT HER AND HER IGNORANT PALS OF COURSE. pri12579 CAN GO TO THE STRIP WITH HER FLUNKIES AND SIP $2 MARTINIS OR 50 CENT BEER- WE’LL BLAME IT ON THE BOSSA NOVA THIS WEEKEND! IT'S TIME TO GET NEW FRIENDS!! OUR APOLOGIES TO THE NICE FOLKS AT BOSSA NOVA. SEE YOU SOON!

Pros: Quality people, great food & friendly service..and did I mention the food is awesome!

Cons: Need a Bossa Nova in the North Hills!!

Great food, nicely sized portions for tapas. Atmosphere is wonderful. Owner is very personable and accommodating to patrons. The quality of food is exceptional, especially for the price. After reading a previous review, I can understand why the owner would be upset if people started photographing celebs/athletes who dine there. He may only be concerned about their privacy and trying to prevent them from being harassed. Overall great experience each time we dine at Bossa Nova.

Pros: quality of food for price. ambience. service. nice variety of food to chose from

Cons: none

My roommate and I had our joint birthday party at Bossa Nova thinking that it would be a fun, classy place. We were wrong. Although we brought close to 80 people to the lounge (about 400% of what they had otherwise), the wait staff was rude - pushing through our group without so much as an 'excuse me'. And to top it off, the owner was a raging lunatic. The man screamed at us for 10 minutes for taking pictures with Penguins players - even though we had asked for permission and the players were more than happy to oblige. The owner screamed every four letter word imaginable at us and would not stop to accept an apology or stop when a Penguins player came over and told him there was no need to be angry. The man was completey irrational and disrespectful to us.

Pros: Good martini menu

Cons: Terrible service, disrespectful ownership, parking

Bossa Nova continues to impress me time and time again. The food is amazing, and the drink selections are increadible! I do get the vibe that the management encourages "preferential treatment" for Pittsburgh's 'high and mighty'. However, the staff was very polite and my service was excellent! Bossa Nova is great for happy hour, or check it out before or after your show at Heinz Hall or The Benedum!!

Pros: Drink Selection

Cons: Sometimes "stuffy" service

I thought the food was outstanding. The house salad was huge and the tuna tartar was great. However, I thought the entree portions were a bit small for their price. I thought our waitress was really tacky when she read out the totals for our individual bills. Wierd.

Three strikes and you are out! I have graced Bossa Nova three times hoping that the experience would be better than the previous, but, alas no such luck. The hosting staff is a big turn off. To be equally as chilly as the Pittsburgh winter is hardly charming. Nevertheless, the drinks are great, the California Rolls are actually worth it, and you cannot go wrong with the Korean BBQ ribs over Jasmine rice.

Pros: Martinis, California Rolls, Korean BBQ ribs

Cons: , Limited capacity
