Today was my first visit to eikon, and I will definitely be returning. I found the staff to be friendly, engaging, and sincere, and the atmosphere was quite relaxing. I got a cut and color from Carrie, who was artistic yet meticulous. I was able to select Carrie from their web page which was very helpful (www.eikonhair dot com) She listened to everything I said and seemed to care about the result, which turned out better that I had even hoped. I was wary of coloring my hair for the first time, but I am thrilled with the result. Great work! Thank you!!

I have spent the past 4 years (since moving to Sewickley from L.A.) trying to find the ideal stylist. I wanted to find someone who: 1. ) Knew how to give a modern cut 2.) Knew how to perfect the coloring I was after 3. ) Was down to earth but professional 4.) Applied ZERO sales pressure but explained what he was using in my hair 5. ) Did not have to book 3 months in advance to get in for an appt. Tough order to fill! However, after trying several stylists at the 'top' salons, I found Shawn who met all of my criteria. I have been to Shawn three times and have another appointment scheduled for the weekend. Finally, people are back to complimenting my cut and color and I attribute it all to Shawn. I took in a couple of pictures of a haircut and Shawn was able to duplicate the cut to the exact standards I was hoping for. I recommend this salon to anyone who realizes that when you feel good about your hair, you feel even better about yourself. Thanks, Shawn!

I was skeptical of going to eikon given the "hip" nature of it. A lot of places like this give everyone the same "it girl" hair cut. I was pleasantly proven wrong. From the moment I got there, everyone was polite. My stylist, Pattie, was attentive to my concerns, and tailored my hair cut to both what I wanted and what would look best on me. And if the whole experience was not good enough, Pattie gave me an amazing style (I would have been happy with the shampoo and the styling alone). And, to finish off a great cut. I left feeling (and looking) as though I should have paid a lot more for the amazing job that Pattie did.

Pros: hip upscale -- easy location

Ok I admit it. I read a blog about a local shop that was employing a "celebrity" hairstylist whose resume has included doing Paris Hilton's hair was well as Carmen Electra. What the heck, I need a cut anyway and wasn't really thrilled with the other local shops I had been to. Guess what? The "stylist of the stars" was Shawn McKelvey and he really has done all that hair and many many more superstars. He shared his portfolio and pictures with all these stars with me AND gave me what felt like "star treatment". I loved the cut and highlights he did !!! I cannot believe he wound up in Wexford, but I am so glad he did. Honestly, eikon was a nice trendy shop and the staff was really cool, fun and friendly.

Pros: easy location to get to, just off I-79 exit, Bumble products are amazing

Cons: changing salon names, I was initially confused by the old name still there

i've been going to Hair By Damian, (well I guess its now called eikon HAIR LOUNGE for awhile now and Pattie is amazing! Hands down the best cut and color everytime i walk out the door. The other stylists are always welcoming and eager to assist. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON if you want the best salon experience ever.

Pros: atmosphere, quality, smiling faces, great hair!

Cons: not inexpensive but well worth it

This is a really nice hair salon. All of the employees are nice and treat you special. The problem is that the stylists can get distracted and chatty among each other while cutting your hair. I have gone several times now to the same hair stylist, and she does a pretty good job. The problem is, she can be inconsistent and your hair will come out a bit different each time. I would recommend this salon, just make sure you like your stylist.

Pros: Nice atmosphere; professional

Although I have only been around Pittsburgh for a year, I found my entire experience at eikon to be incredibly enjoyable and every staff member with whom I had contact to be nothing but competent and polite (Carrie is my current stylist of choice). Hailing from a large city myself, I too have become accustomed to paying quite a bit for a quality haircut, but I found the price point at eikon to be completely appropriate if not underrated for Wexford. The atmosphere was immediately relaxing and inviting. I intend to consistently frequent eikon in the future and would recommend the same to anyone. The staff possesses a degree of professionalism that I deem a true rarity in the business. Keep up the fantastic work!

t is just the nature of people to tell you when something goes wrong, especially when it comes to customer service or places we do business; however, people rarely take the time to tell you when something goes right or when someone does an amazing job. That is why I am writing this review. I started going to Carrie at Hair By Damian and was amazed at the professionalism and atmosphere. She styled my hair and curled it and I don't think I had ever really liked my hair until that day. I had the Victoria's Secret look and it gave me so much confidence! Carrie takes the time to really know ALL her customers and what they want out of their haircut or color. She always makes suggestions and I have always agreed with her because I know she is going to keep me looking as amazing as my hair will allow! Also, she styles my hair differently every time I get it cut to show me different options. I love this!! Most stylists I have been to in the past have treated what they do as "just a job" and have always simply done whatever I asked them to do regarding my hair, even when it wasn't the best decision based on face shape or other reasons. CARRIE KNOWS HAIR, and you can trust that she is always going to make you look your absolute best! ! If you want to leave feeling like you've had a make-over, Carrie is your girl! The place is wonderful - the entire staff always makes me feel so welcome. PS - the other stylists look like they take the time with you also, I just have never experienced them personally.

Pros: trendy comfortable atmosphere

Cons: more expensive than a mom shop but well worth it

I will soon have my 4th haircut by LaV'etta, her cuts on my baby fine thin hair are wonderful. I am also hooked on her brow waxes. She is so joyful and talented, you will have fun and end up looking great! Everyone at the salon is so relaxed and personable. I have also had the best brownies and coffee there too!

Have to agree with recent postings,,,thank you for commenting - after reading your comments I called and that afternoone had an appointment. LUV it!! LaVette is awesome and so welcoming - as is everyone! For those reading reviews older than a year or so - the salon has a new owner, new staff and is GREAT!!! So glad I came across the reviews for now I have a new salon & I will shout it from the roof tops! Definitely a must to visit!!!
