I would like to let everyone know that Mary Lou does the best in personal care, facials and waxing ever! She is meticulous and does a fantastic job. I am very particular about things and have been to other high end salons but I can honestly say that Mary Lou is the best. I have been with her for over 4 years and would proudly recommend her. Roxann Giancola
Pros: Very nice atomosphere and excellent staff
Cons: none

After recently having gastric bypass surgery and losing 90 pounds, I was ready for a new look to accompany the "new" me. The stylist I had been going to for years was great, but I was ready for a big change. I did what was suggested by major fashion magazines and began stopping people who had great hair... in Mt. Lebanon, at South Hills Village, in downtown Pittsburgh... to ask where they got such a great cut/color. I heard the same refrain, Izzazu, more than once: and Gino's name was mentioned often. I knew that was where I had to go! At my first consultation, I was greeted by friendly professionals at the salon and shown to Gino's chair. Gino was warm and professional and took the time to talk to me about my lifestyle, my hair, my face shape, my current style, and what I was looking to achieve. He spent nearly fifteen minutes just looking at me face to face before standing up and talking about his ideas for my new style. I really appreciated that he cared and wanted what would work best for me in his esteemed opinion. After a series warm low lights that Gino applied himself, I was rinsed out by wonderful Ri, his assistant, and brought back to Gino's chair for the cut. Gino proceed to snip a few "skinny layers" into my Victoria Beckham bob...and wow! A subtle change with maximum impact! My new cut was classy and edgy! Gino talked about how we would gradually work my hair into a new style over a series of colorings and cuts. I had lost a great deal of hair because of nutritional deficiency from my surgery and he not only made sure I was taking the proper supplements, but lifted my flat hair with precise snips in the proper places and great volumizing products. I left feeling happy, satisfied with my new salon and Gino. I made an appointment to return in 5 weeks. I bought several of the great products and have been using them daily with excellent results. I have been able to replicate my style with minimum effort and the compliments have been endless.
Pros: Gino and the staff are warm and professional.
Cons: Parking, but it's not the fault of the salon...I'd walk a block or two for Gino!

I recently got a new job so to go along with my new career I decided on a new look. I started reading many reviews and kept returning to Izzazu and the wonderful testimonials people left. I am a very hard sell so I have to admit I was a bit nervous going into a new salon. After having my hair damaged in the past I had not been to a proper stylist in over a year. I had colored my hair back to my natural color and decided to abandon all hope for having great hair. My natural color is dark brown but I really wanted to be transformed into a sultry red head. I brought in my laptop with several celebrity looks I wanted to recreate, "Marsha Cross Red with wavy cascading curls"... To be honest I didn't think I would get what I wanted but thought why not give it a try. These guys claim to be the best, Prove it! Emilio listened to every detail and the transformation began. I had some old color on my hair that had to be dealt with so Emilio and his assistants surrounded me with color swatches and formulas were shouted out back and forth to create the perfect combination. I felt like their main priority while they worked and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Brilliant! I feel like I went on one of those t.v. make over shows my hair looks amazing it is exactly what I wanted. The color is vivid and seamless I look like I was born with these ravishing red locks! These guys are so creative and intense I highly recommend taking advantage of their services before they go Hollywood. Make sure to take before and after shots when documenting your transformation. They are definitely up for the challenge. Love my hair, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Thank you Emilio you are a true artist!
Pros: Wonderful overall experience
Cons: Pricey but worth it!

This is the best salon I have ever been to. I have extremely curly hair so I am always cautious about who cuts it. I love going to see Emilio, he really knows what he's doing. As for the negative reviews on here I hardly think the parking and construction have to do with the quality of the salon, and it is extremely easy to find. For the upset bride, when getting your make-up done for your wedding you are supposed to go in BEFORE the day of to discuss what you are looking for and to take a trial run. Going in the day of and expecting them to know exactly what you want and then not being able to do it is YOUR fault. Planning ahead is key, no matter where you go. The employees at Izzazu are very respectful and caring, plus they are educated on all different types of hair and styles. It makes me feel good just being in there. The assistants are extremely friendly, as are the stylists. The receptionist is pretty ditsy, but it's hardly noticable with all the other amazing things the place has to offer.
Pros: Experienced, knowledgable staff, great atmosphere, friendly
Cons: parking

The review that gave the salon a bad review...go to hell. I never had a set salon. I would go to wherever could take me first. Until I went to izzazu. Anne is my stylist and I love her. They are the nicest most generous people in the industry. They booked me for an appt and when I showed up the sylest had called off. They called me earlier in the day. They gave me a free hair cut for driving down there even though It was my fault I didnt know she wasnt there. Thats not customer service?
Pros: Great people. A lot of differnet options
Cons: Parking

I've been with Izzazu since opening day. Patty Jean is my stylist and is now my friend. I always look my best when leaving Izzazu. Patty Jean always knows what I like and what looks best on me! Sometimes I just say to make my hair look like her's. By the way she is gergous. I would recommend Izzazu to anyone, and have recommend Patty Jean to my close friends. PS I love the gift cards. If you get a manicure pedicare be sure and ask for Paula. Xtina gives the best best facials too!!
Pros: great staff
Cons: parking, parking, parking maybe a 1 hr free parking on the street?

they all look like druggies. thats not an environment i want to be in. I had an appointment for my wedding and i have short hair. they booked me with the male hair stylist and LITERALLY 10 other women at the same time. he spent 5 minutes putting my veil on and did NOTHING with my hair. I could have thrown the veil in myself for free just like the stylist. Then i my niece had an appointment the week later and canceled three or four days ahead. the morning of the same hair stylist actually CALLED her house and left a message screaming at her that she wasted his time. we complained to the manager and they said to apologize they would send a gift and they did not because we never recieved it. they are rude cocky people!!
Cons: rude cocky staff, books 10 appts at once

I love getting my hair done by Melissa at Izzazu Salon! She is so nice to talk to and listens to what I want done. I 'm thrilled with the hairstyles she gives me & my color is gorgeous! I never have to wait long, & I always feel like she is glad to see me. I've gotten alot of compliments on my hair since going to her. Thank you so much Melissa for helping me to stay looking younger & stylish!!
Pros: knowledgeable on latest trends
Cons: parking costs (garage)

It might actually be great if you COULD ACTUALLY !@#$ING GET THERE!!! Seriously, all the road closings and construction make it virtually impossible to get there AND GOOD LUCK NOT HAVING AN ANEURYSM WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FIND A PARKING SPOT!!!!!!
Pros: You don't have to go there.
Cons: How much time do you have?

I have been going to this Salon for a few years now and I will not be back. Getting an appointment is really hard because nobody answers or you are put on hold for way too long. I leave messages and nobody ever gets back to me. All of my cuts have been really great but It is not worth the hassle anymore. I work downtown so it was really convenient but it also takes forever to get checked out. The people that are checking you out are completely clueless. Slow, Slow, Slow..
Pros: hair cuts great, close to work, hairdresser was always pleasant
Cons: too much hassle
