I agree with most of the reviews that have been written on here. I have had problems with the bouncers/doormen as well... they aren't very nice, and yelled at me once for going in the wrong door. The drink service was OK... but thats because we usually get there early, around 10, and were waited on by the male bartenders. The drinks are not very strong at all, I agree.... I had about 5 drinks and didn't even feel a buzz! The only room I ever hang out in is the 80's room, even though the music is pretty repititve. Not one of my favorite clubs.

Pros: Cheap drinks

Cons: Parking fee, Cover charge

I just wanted to comment on a few other reviews here. First of all, Matrix is not a bad place. granted, it is a little on the foul smelling side and it can be over crowded, but as far as the stench goes, it you spill alcohol all over the place on a regular basis plus pack 1000 people into one building, all of which are dancing and sweaty, ur not gonna have a pretty scent at the end of the night. Second, the music is what you would expect at a nightclub, lay off the DJ's people. Chances are, management probably makes the final decisions anyway. Finally, some girl made a post about the doormen and how terrible they are. When I went, there were two guys working, a heavy set guy and a more athletic lookin guy. I thought they were a riot. They busted two underage girls attempting to use fake ID's in front of me in line, it was hillarious! They were very easy to talk to, and at one point when I was in the latin room, I saw them break up a couple guys getting into it in the lobby in a very effective and professional manner. I don't understand why anyone would refer to them as terrible. For that matter, the entire staff was very nice. Bartenders were quick to serve and got my drinks right every time...AND HOW CAN YOU BEAT THE SPECIAL PRICES???!!! I had a lot of fun at matrix and will definately return.

Pros: Excellent bar and staff.

Cons: Smells a little, and 8 bucks for parking...ouch!

Look....Ill just cut to the chase....the Matrix IS HORRIBLE 1. poor staff as mentioned in prior reviews. 2. Some shouldl check the bartender's credentials because whether 50 cents or 5 dollars ....they are always watered down and you would have to drink 18 drinks just to feel buzzed.. 3. thurday, friday, saturday, whatever night....they play the same songs in every room! every night.....WHY DO THEY HAVE DJS....THE CD IS ON LOOP! 4. Mop the floor.....it smells like REGURGITATION near the bars....5. The so-called dancers cant....and look like they are either suffering from seizures or terets....no diversity amongst the dancers... 6. the door men are rude....7. The latin club's drinks are over priced why, when its supposed to be four clubs in one.... IF YOU DECIDE TO GO TO THE MATRIX AND SEE FOR YOURSELF...HERE ARE THE SONGS THAT WILL BE PLAYING....80'S ROOM- THRILLER, LIKE A VIRGIN, HEY MICKEY, JUMP ON IT HIP HOP ROOM- SEAN PAUL, SUICIDAL, BABY GOT BACK, ICE CUBE..U CAN DO IT PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT, USHER'S YEAH, YING YANG TWINS TO THE WINDOW TO THE WALL.....AND THAT ONE DADDY YANKEE SONG,....ITS TOO MUCH TO TAKE....EVEN IT YOU ARE DRUNK OF 50 CENTS DRINKS THAT YOUV'E CONSUMED FOR SIX HOURS STRAIGHT

Pros: HOMELESS CAN GET IN OUT OF THE COLD...GETS CHILLY IN PITTSBURGH....

1. Order 2 drinks 2. Bartender pours you 4 drinks 3. Pay for 4 drinks 4. Tell bartender you only ordered 2 5. Bouncers ask you to leave I'm not sure if Tommy Jason has anything to do with this club but I'm pretty sure he can do better...

Pros: 4 clubs in one

I was thorougly insulted and humiliated going to the Matrix this past week. They refused to accept my current ID, simply because I am here from Missouri for a summer volunteer program and could not recall my old address from four years ago that is listed on the ID (meanwhile could OBVIOUSLY remember my own birthday as well as the city/street of the address). I am 22 years old, and the ID was issued when I was 18. I offered to show four other forms of ID in my wallet, but the doorsmen refused to listen to me. Since going to college I have had no need to remember the address and the ID has never once presented a problem like this before. I am outraged that anyone would say that I am not who I am. The Matrix discriminates unduly, I do not plan on returning there ever and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Apparently there are 50 cent drinks on Thursday

Cons: Douchebag a**hole doorsmen

IF YOU LIKE CLUBS WITH 25 PEOPLE IN IT MATRIX IS NOT FOR YOU. UNLIKE THE STIP THERE IS NO DRESS CODE (NO HOODIES) MATRIX IS PACKED ON SATURDAYS AND IT IS A BLAST. THE CROWD MAY BE LARGE BUT TONS OF GIRLS LOOKING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. ITS A SAFE CLUB UNLESS YOU YOURSELF MAKE IT UNSAFE. I AM THERE EVERY SATURDAY TILL IT CLOSES. I love it here, Ilove the crowd and the chaos and the 50 cent drinks, the only thing I don't like are the creepy men and the $8 parking.

Pros: very packed if you like that (i do!)

Cons: parking prices, slow service from female bartenders if you are a femals, creepy men

Matrix isnt a good club anymore. I'm posting to let everyone know not to waste their money. Picture yourself in a mosh pit that plays crappy music and that sums it up for ya. You cant walk or dance anywhere without being pushed, shoved, or slammed out of the way. I've been everywhere and Matrix is the worst club right now. #1 PLEASE put a limit on how many people can get in. I'm not going back to Matrix until they do so. Matrix isnt that special to be as crowded as it gets. #2 MR DJ PUT DIFFERENT MUSIC ON PLEASE. Do something about the over populated crowd and the headache overplayed music. I don't see some of the people that i used to see as much anymore prolly due to the same problems I am facing. Try walking through Goddess these days without getting knocked over. Goodluck.

Not here anyway, This place is not that great in my opinion. It lacks true flavor. there have been better clubs sprouting up all over in the 'burg lately. It can be a hassle to get from one room to another, the drinks are weak, and the main dance room is allways over-packed. The saving grace is Velvet. It is my favorite part, but still not worth the cover and parking prices.

Great drink, can be pricy, but well worth the expense. I have always had a great time at the Matrix. 4 Bars, my fav is Liquid; but Goddess is a close second. This bar has a NYC feel but here in the burgh! Well worth the checking out!!!

Pros: Great Parking, Gorgeous Women, Great Drink Specials

Cons: Expensive Cover, Good music, SIN Night is Great
