User Reviews for Aesthetic Laser Center

I've been a patient at the Aesthetic Laser Center for 3 years and have had an enjoyable experience at EVERY visit! I've had problem skin since I was a teenager and Dr. Barad and Jill have kept my 35-year-old skin beautiful from the very first visit! I've received numerous services including microdermabrasion on my African-American skin and they are both very knowledgable on what does and doesn't work on Black skin... AND I LISTENED... AND FOLLOWED... THEIR PROFESSIONAL OPINION!!! I always had a lot of questions and both Jill and Dr. Barad answered every single one with reassuring confidence. I've seen many dermatologists over the years, but Jill and Dr. Barad are the BEST! I've also bought many of the skin care product lines they offer at the spa, and have had excellent results! More than being highly qualified professionals, they have been friendly faces and warm spirits who have made my temporary stay in Pittsburgh all the better for knowing them. I'm a Southern Belle moving back to the South this summer who found Pittsburgh to be a little cold (I probably ran into cq000 around town at the height of his rude behavior... Shame on you sir for your obvious abusive personality and rude attitude). However, I ALWAYS looked forward to my visits to see Jill and Dr. Barad because at the end of my appointment... I felt rejuvenated and beautiful... inside and out! THANK YOU for keeping me gorgeous!!!
Pros: Short wait time.... personal service is excellent!!!... very accommodating with last minute appointments
Cons: none

This is the first time I have ever written a review for services received from anyone. However, I felt compelled to do so after reading that scathing review from "cq000". Anyone who begins thier critique with words like "botox chubbies and fake-looking blonde with orange skin" loses thier credibility in the first sentence. This wasn't a review. It's a revenge letter. It tells me that the person who wrote it is a person who wants to hear only thier own opinion and not the medical advice of a professional who has treated literally hundreds of patients whose reviews you can also see here. I am a patient of the Aesthetic Laser Center. I am delighted with the results of my chemical peels. I am 66 years old and my skin is as fresh and clear as some 40 year olds. Gae......not Kay or Gay.......(get it straight, cq000 when you are trying to be factual)..............is the epitome of class and professionalism. Anyone who has met her or has been treated by her knows that. She tells you honestly what is good or not good for your skin type. In this day and age where hype is all you hear and people just want to sell you anything........cq000 should have realized that when a professional tells you that some aesthetic treatments are not advised for certain skin types, he should take it as professional advice and appreciate the fact that Dr. Barad's staff won't lie or promise results that are unrealistic even if it causes them to lose the business of a client. I highly recommend the Aesthetic Laser Center and applaud the whole staff for it's warmth and professionalism. These people really do know what they're doing and unlike, cq000, I have nothing to hide. I would welcome anyone to contact me and see my great results.
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere, friendly office staff
Cons: none

I have been a patient at the Asthetic Laser Center for nearly two years. While in my "youth", I permantly marked my body with, you guessd it, tattoos. When I met my husband, we made the decision together to have them removed. Upon much searching, deliberation and research, THE MOST qualified center for this laser procedure was ALC. They are always up to date with the latest information - and have changed my course of action several times to keep up with technology and treatment procedures. Dr. Barad, Jill and Linda have been of utmost help in this "journey", and I wouldn't put my trust in anyone else. With all that being said, please note that I live more than 2 hours from Pittsburgh, (in WV), but would drive 10 hours to receive the treatment, courtesy and expertise that I find at this center.

What can I say except BRAVO! I have been going to dermatologists for years and I have never had the experience that I have had at the Aesthetic and Laser Center. The staff and physician beat all of them -- hands-down. They are open to help with any need that I may have and they even listen to me. They are an attentive and a very competent staff and the extremely relaxing environment make it a joyous experience. I have very problematic skin and both Gae and Jill understand and helpful each time I have a “breakout” crisis. Suffering from acne all my life and now subsequently scarring I really needed people to listen to me. These girls do and they always try to make me feel better. After a dermabraision and an IPL or a facial and a massage I feel invigorated. Contrary to one of the reviews I read here, ALC is definitely NOT a place that is incompetent, nor rude -- especially considering the degree of education, compassion and pampering that is supplied by the staff. My experience was so wonderful that I feel like sending out a broadcast email to all of my family members, friends, work associates, and anyone else I can think of to tell them to GET TO ALC at their first available opportunity. Really it is truly one of the best places that I have gone. I can only think that the person who wrote the scathing review which I read had to have some ulterior motive for doing so. I can't imagine what ANY spa could do to improve upon the service I received at ALC. Thanks to all of you at ALC for making my visits at your establishment one of the most relaxing and refreshing experiences I've had. Bravo! Nice job, girls!
Pros: KNowledgeable staff, on time always, can squeeze you in for last minute appointments
Cons: No Parking

I have been a client for over 7 years. I have have had a wide array of services done including facials, IPL , hair removal, 1540, Botox, Restylane, and microdermabrasion. Very pleased with every service I have received. Dr. Barad and her staff are all very professional and qualified. Would not trust anyone else! In all the years I have been going to see Dr. Barad or her technicians I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes, have never felt rushed , have had everything explained to me, and always have had all my questions answered. I would highly recommend them for anyone of any age with all their skin issues. The atmosphere is relaxing, comfortable and inviting. The staff is fantastic!!! The list of services is extensive. Why go anywhere else!
Pros: Professional, Precise, Highly qualified

My experience was great, I saw both laser technicians and they spent all the time that I needed explaining the procedure and answering any questions that I had. They were both very professional and kind and not only did I feel that I had all the information that I needed but I also felt comfortable discussing my skin issues. I have only had two IPS (Laser) treatments for Rosacea and have already noticed a huge improvement. I am very pleased with my experience and would absolutely recommend Dr. Barad and her staff.

I made an appointment for a skin consultation on laser hair removal a few weeks ago, but not without doing considerable research on laser hair removal first. The waiting room is populated by Botox chubbies (chubby middle-aged women wearing purple "Botox" t-shirts decorated with rhinestones) and one extremely fake-looking blonde with orange skin in the waiting room. My consult, Kay (or Gay), made a sales pitch that IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is the latest in hair removal technology and suitable for most skin types. I went home after the consult to do a bit of research--studies in reputable journals show that because IPL is not a laser, it is underpowered compared to laser for the purpose of hair removal, and IPL is dangerous for darker skin types (like mine), and promoted mostly as a sales tactic. The website of this spa says they do offer a laser machine for hair removal, with a wavelength that is suitable for my skin type. I went back to the spa and requested they use a laser instead of the IPL on me because I had done laser before with favorable results. This time, its a different consult (a fake-looking Botox skinny with claw-like hands) who sat me down in the room and tried to convince me to use the IPL despite my clear request on the phone for laser. Her: "I don't even bother with the laser machine, because IPL works so well, even on skin type like yours, I know what is best for you." This I took to imply that she is unfamiliar with the laser machine and hence unqualified to operate it. I decided to leave. As I stood up, she clutched the clipboard, and hissed with infantile indignation after me: "GOOD! Because we don't want to treat you anyway!" Do I really want someone who doesn't know what she is talking about (she doesn't even know what a 1064mm ND-YAG is, which is a specific type of laser) and rude to a customer zapping away at my most delicate areas? No. I don't know how they do on other services, but I don't recommend taking your unwanted hair there.
Pros: State medical license in order, offers a range of services
Cons: Poor service, inaptitude, snobbishness, inexpertise
