Absolute Wonderful Dining Experience!
by nikki228
For a "girls night out" (my 2 daughters and I) we had tickets to see a show at the Byham and decided to eat at a non-fast food restaurant before hand. For convenience sake, since it is right next door, we went in. The menu was a little more than moderately priced, but since it was a special night - we obliged. From the host, to the waitress, to every other employee there, it was a wonderful experience! And the food...exquisite! The atmosphere was pleasantly delightful - it will be a memory for my daughters and I to cherise for a lifetime! Highly recommended for "special" occasions!
This Place Can't Get Any Better!!!
by MuskyWin
My wife and I live approx. 90 miles from Pittsburgh in a backward, horrible little town. When we need refreshed we take a weekend trip to The Renaissance and we dine at Opus. I give this place my highest accolades. I have been to some of the finest hotel's and restaurant's in this great country and I can say with absolute certainity this is one of the 10 best. This place is everything you could ever want for a get-away weekend. The staff of this hotel and restaurant are the finest anywhere and they will make you feel like the president. On a scale of 1 to 10 it rates a 42.
- Pros: Everything, Food quality, Service
Located inside the Renaissance Hotel, this first-rate eatery delivers intimacy, whether you're dining with two or twenty.

The Scene
The comforting chardonnay-colored lighting; the sheen that makes every wooden surface look as if it would ripple if touched; the plush curved booths, elegant and inviting: All of these elements make you feel at ease immediately upon entering Opus.
The Food
Fish and sausage are not two ingredients often served in tandem. But don't let that deter you from the Brazilian nut-crusted sea bass, a wonderful change of pace from the oft-seen Chilean counterpart. Served atop fresh spinach and chorizo sausage, and topped with chips of tender, nutty morsels, this moist, mild fish is a uniquely delicious entree. Some other interesting offerings include pistachio-crusted goat cheese salad and grilled berry-marinated duck breast. And for the shellfish connoisseur, Opus offers tantalizing stone jumbo-lump Chesapeake crab cakes.
- Pros: luxurious interior
Intimately Awesome!
by keckley
Opus has the feel of an intimate get-away for being a restaurant in a hotel. And the food is wonderful!
The service is top notch, too.
