Cheryl is the queen of pedicures for problem feet!

I've had two surgeries on my feet, and I get ingrown toenails. Pedicures can be painful for me and my sensitive feet, and more often than not my ingrown toenails are not properly treated. But today I went to Cheryl for the first time. She removed the ingrown nails expertly, with very little pain. I usually ask to skip the foot massage because my feet are so sensitive - but I quickly trusted Cheryl not to hurt me. She gave me a relaxing foot massage with a lovely exfoliating scrub. Cheryl has been at Capristo for 20 years - so I know she has a good track record and will be reliable in the future. I highly recommend her.

Hi my name is Dana Bannon of Capristo Salon & Wellness Spa. First i would like to extend my sincerest apologies to Client Papillion7 for having a negative experience at the salon. I never want a client to leave dissatisfied with their services and/or have a feeling of humiliation when they look in the mirror.As a Stylist I have always prided myself on my client consultations and continue to always have them even once the client is no longer "new". I feel that my job as a stylist is to have open conversations with the clients that choose me and to make sure that we reach a common understanding before even heading back to the shampoo area. If any significant length was removed or a style was created and it it was not what you had envisioned, i do apologize and please know it was not from any careless mistakes, not paying attention or being "scissor happy".As a stylist i pride myself on having a vision when creating a look on a client. That vision is a collaboration of what suits the face and lifestyle of the client but also what the client wishes to have as an end result and what i feel is a creative, unique approach. In this business we grow as professionals from not only positive feedback but negative as well. I do again apologize if your end result was not what you wanted and that i never intended for you to feel this way about your experience. I would like to invite you back to the salon so that we may sit down and i can possibly fix any problems you may currently be having with the cut. If not i can always recommend another qualified stylist that may better suit your needs.

I have been a loyal client of Dana Bannon for over 5 years. She listens to my ideas and adds perfect suggestions, creating a unique, sexy sculpture with my hair every visit. Her skill with color leaves me feeling fresh and ready to take on the world every time i leave her chair. If you are looking for a style pick me up that will have people stopping you on the street asking "Who does your hair?" or exclaiming "I have hair envy!" your answer is Dana Bannon.

Great Salon Experience!

I was looking for somewhere new to get my hair cut and highlighted and after reading the reviews decided to give Breanne a try at Capristo's. I was her last appointment of the night and she stayed pleasant and positive and also made sure my highlights were perfect before leaving. Breanne was top notch and her attention to detail was really appreciated and refreshing!! I loved my hair cut and highlights and am looking forward to my next appointment!

• Cons: parking is difficult.

One of the best Hair Salons

I highly suggest Kimmy when scheduling to get your hair done. No matter what it is, she can do and do it with style and class. She is so good at her job and you can tell she loves what she does. She will not let you leave the chair until it is perfect. You will always leave the salon very satisfied with your new 'do.' Kim is very personable and easy to talk to. I cannot say enough good things about her and my hair is so much healthier since I started going to her. Highly recommended to anybody and everybody!!!!!

I Still Can’t Believe I Allowed This to Happen to Me

I chose this salon largely on the strength of its positive reviews. It was OK – I’ve been to better, I’ve been to worse. When the receptionist suggested Dana, who was mentioned in several good reviews, I was optimistic. Perhaps it was this unearned trust that set me up for such a great disappointment.

I described what I wanted very clearly – just a trim, more or less – and can't see how she could possibly have been paying attention. My hair was somewhat overgrown when I walked in and I walked out knowing it would be several months until it got back to a suitable length. Couldn’t we have found a happy medium – a point where it’s just right? In addition to cutting it considerably shorter than I’d requested, she somehow managed to preserve the aspects of the original which I liked least, while the parts I loved ended up scattered about the floor. Taken on its own I wouldn’t necessarily say this was the worst haircut I’ve ever received (although it's not great), but it certainly has no place on my head. If you’re looking for a basic, run of the mill, cookie-cutter sort of style, Dana might be OK for you. However, if you have any sense of originality and wish to retain your individual look, you’d be better off going elsewhere.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that I’ve just returned home from this ordeal and am full of strange emotions. Some time has been allowed to intervene, yet I still feel depressed and humiliated whenever I see myself in a mirror or think about this experience.

I've never had a better cut than Kim's

I have been getting my hair cut with Kim for 3 years now and she never disappoints. While her client my hair has ranged from short and buzzed to shoulder length and Kim always does a great job no matter what the style. Whenever we are changing the cut Kim listens to me and works with me to make sure she gets it just the way I want. I've had problems in the past with stylists not being able to give me a longer style that doesn't look like a woman's cut but Kim always gets it right. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great cut.

Proceed with Caution

Reading the reviews on citysearch for this salon, I decided to make an appt for a hair cut with one of the stylists with more than one positive review. I want to caution others that I did not receive a good hair cut and went to another place to get it fixed a week later as I felt the salon as well as the stylist weren't worth another gamble. Short layers were cut into the top of my head and not blended in with the bottom so it was like I had two different hair cuts going on at once and the stylist next to mine and that client were having a conversation that could offend others. The experience was pretty pricey and not worth it. Once my hair was fixed, I was talking to someone who complimented me on this "fixed" cut and I mentioned that this version was a correction from a stylist at Capristo salon and a person overhearing this chimed in that she got a hair cut by this same stylist at this same salon the day before and her layers were not blended as well (my hair is shorter and hers is longer). I hate to name names as everyone has a bad day or days but I would just urge caution! Next time, I don't think I will make an appt with someone based on reviews, I will need to see their work in person!

• Cons: limited parking, on the expensive side

Dedicated Stylist

Hello Citysearch patrons, my name is Kimberly Hughes and I am a stylist at Capristo Salon. I am on Citysearch today in reference to the comment that was written about me on October 18 by one of my clients, NicoleA20. I want to extend a formal apology to you that your final product was not what you envisioned. There may have been some miscommunication between what you and I both pictured for the final result. As for leaving the bleach on a long time, my first concern is always the integrity of the hair. If the processing time felt long for the bleach, I would have a good reason for doing so. One of my goals as a stylist for my clients is to inform and educate all of you of what is happening to you during your time with me. That is one of the reasons why I became an educator for L'Oreal Professionel and for my several master degrees in color so that I am always keeping abreast of the latest classes and educating myself for my clients. The reason I am writing on Citysearch is because I would love to extend an invitation to you to come back, so that we can sit down and discuss exactly what your expectations are for your hair and how we would go about attaining them. I could tell you exactly what my thought process was for your last appointment by your detailed client information card that I keep on all my color clients. What would be a great help and tool for us to better communicate when we consult is to have some pictures of hair color that you like and dislike to use as a reference point. Once again I do apologize your last experience was not what you had envisioned, and I would love to make it up to you. Shelly is The Brazilian wax gueen of Pittsburgh

I just started school in Pittsburgh, so I needed a new place for my Brazilian waxes. I found Shelly on line and thought I would give her a try. Well her reviews were all correct. She really is so professional and fast, I was amazed.

loved it the first time with kim

I have went to Kim a few times for highlights ...she does a really good job and takes her time but the past couple times I went she didn't really listen to what I wanted. She also left the bleach in a really long time without checking them...There were very very white then!
