good practice. Been taking the pets there for years.... Nice people, prices are normal...They really feel for you and your pet.....I had to put a pet down and they really were caring before during and after... A+++ I dont know about the previious 1 stars ratings,,, never seen that....
Worst Receptionist ever!!. Welcom Wagon gave me a really nice magnet to advertise this vet when I moved here. The magnet didn't advertise 2 numbskulls at the front office desk, evdently the highlight of this vet's office. I have 2 dogs and a cat. One dog has a severe thyroid problem, her serum thyroid level was 0.00 before we started her on the pills. Recently she began gaining weight again, and has a bad looking eye. Both are often related to thyroid deficiency. I wanted an appointment, but had a question on the timing. I had forgotten how long after taking the pill (she takes 2 a day) we were supposed to check the thyroid level. The receptionist said it "didn't matter", I told her it did indeed matter and I'd be glad to hold while she went and found out how long. She then asked the person in the chair next to her and said she "agreed it didn't matter". So they have two dimwits working at the front office area! I don't expect the office help to be vets, but I do expect them to find out the answer to a technical question and not try to guess. Especially as I have experience here and know it was either 3 or 4 hours after the pill. If they are this "nice" when greeting new customers, I can only imagine how nice they are when they aren't trying to even fake the"welcome to Cranberry" to me anymore. There has to be another vet in town that values customer relations and thinks their office help is their ambassadors. I see other reviews here saying the front office help isn't very helpful. I guess the doctor never sees them, the office folks may know how to do one thing, hide their bad reviews from the boss. I'm usually easy going, this place blew my mind.
Dr. Strobel is the very best.
Dr. Strobel truly cares about animals, this is evident the moment he is with your pet. The reputation that he has earned is stellar. He tells my cat's he loves them & he says it with such sincerity. My issues are that it is much harder to get an appointment with him ( I even scheduled an appointment with him well in advance & then the staff contacted me to say he could't keep the appointment & I had to get in with another vet). I could not wait because I was due to have a baby in a few weeks.
The last appointment that I had there was absolutely ridiculously expensive. They tell you they have a discount for bringing more than 1 pet for a visit. I have 4 cat's & let me say there is no real discount that matters. The new vet that say my cat's took them into another room away from me to do their exams. Dr. Strobel NEVER did this. Dr. Strobel would do the exam in my presence & allow me to ask any & all questions that I had. I had a relationship with Dr. Strobel, we would chat about the cat's, his grandchildren, my job... He gives you 100% & then some. The vet at the last appointment could not or would not make normal eye contact. At times I have also experienced quite rude treatment but it comes from one single source at the front desk. This particular person appears to be on a power trip & it is not conducive to a veterinary setting. I had a cat who was bitten by one of my other cat's and he was limping ( At the time I didn't know this was the result of a bite). I called & got this particular person on the phone & she said I couldn't get in for over a week. I felt he needed to be seen & went to another vet. He was put on meds & I was told it was good he came in then because if it would have been let go it could have turned into an abscess & could have needed surgery. I was so upset that I stayed away from Garden's for a while. I ended up going back because Strobel is the best. I told him what happened & he said if that ever happens again you ask for me. I appreciate that but it should not be that way. I was told there has been issues with this particular person but she still works there.
Vet in Cranberry.
If you want a great caring vet; choose Dr Strobel; an experienced vet that uses that knowledge to help clients -- often without a bunch of expensive and excessive testings. All of my neighbors recommend STROBEL and so do I. So much so that if he leaves this practice I will follow him. If he retires I WILL take my business elsewhere. The "front desk staff" has always treated me well and respectfully -- so I have no issues with them.
HOWEVER, If you are fabulously wealthy and/or snobbish and insist upon paying for test after test -- even for things that an EXPERIENCED vet should be able to tell you without raping your wallet -- then choose one of the other vets at this business because they ARE very very test happy (as if their pay is based upon how many tests they can churn out).
I have experienced what I personally consider the unacceptable standard operating practice of some of the other vets at this practice and the owner (Elliott) has not cared enough to address my concerns.
Ridiculously expensive. I took my pet to Gardens after he hadn't been eating for two days. They did a whole day's worth of tests/xrays/fluids/etc. Turns out, they did not find anything wrong with him. They charged me $475.00 for NOTHING. The front desk staff is rude and condescending, and they openly gossip about customers. I will never go there again.
Outstanding vet practice!!. This is a wonderful practice. All of the vets (especially Dr Strobel who we adore) are extremely competent and very compassionate. They even saw my mom's cat on a Sat without an appointment- we had to go get him and Dr. Strobel waited for us to get there. I think Dr. Strobel was as sad as we were to give us some bad news. They are warm and nurturing with the animals and sensitive to pet owners' feelings. They really love the animals. The vet techs and office staff are also very caring and gentle with the animals. We have been going there for years (and have referred many of our friends as well).
Uncaring-- front desk is a joke..
Dr. Stroble is the best part of this animal hospital, but the front desk is horrible. We have been customers for a few years, but when we had a true emergency the front desk was rude, unaccomadating, told us to go "somewhere else if we thought it was life threatening" and hung up on us.
We were very unhappy, as our dogs love Dr. Stroble and in an emergency (during office hours) we expected to be treated right and have our veterinarian help our dog--truely dissappointing. We ended up taking her to the Northview Animal Hospital on Siebert Rd. and what a world of differance!! The entire staff was more than accomodating and truly sympathetic to our emergency. We ended up switching to this veterinarian, Karen Hayworth , she is truly a gem and the office staff is caring and amazing. We ended up having our dog put to sleep at Northview and they did it in a very caring way. We now take our other dog and new puppy there and highly recommend it.
To top it all of Garden Vets never called to see how our dog was and does not even know she had to be put to sleep, yet they still send us reminders for her shots. They want easy money for easy work. We will never recommend Gardens Vets to anyone and also found out that neighbors have had similar experiences with Gardens.
The best veterinarian's! Dr. Strobel is truly passionate about animals and cares for them like they are his own.. Dr. Strobel is an outstanding Veterinarian who I highly recommend. Animal care is his true calling in life. Dr.Strobel gets to the bottom of any issues with your animal and he treats your animal in the most loving way, nothing fake it is all real. I have 4 cats which are like my children since I don't have any kids. I will not settle for anything but the best for my cats and I have found the best with Dr. Strobel. I have had a few serious issues with my cats, and Dr.Strobel has personally called me to check on their condition after they were released from his care. He knows how to calm both animals and their owners. I greatly respect him.
