Ken's Antiques
An old-time antique shop on the new North Shore..
The Scene
Housed in a former paint store on Pittsburgh's North Side, this bare-bones antique store has that "old-fashioned" smell with stuff that screams, "I'm rusty, dusty and old, but I'm really charming and I know you want me." If you're daring enough to climb the stairs to the loft, you'll find a surfeit of chairs (including ones that hang from the ceiling) and a couple of interesting sofas. Good for architectural antiques, especially, Ken's has lots of doors, mantels, downspouts, and even smokestacks, as well as spindles and entire staircases. (No steps, sorry.)
Other Stuff
Some nifty old furniture and collectibles, like a typical old-fashioned Coca-Cola cooler, as well as weird items like a sickle are also here. They also have a small collection of artwork. Stripping and refinishing services are available and they buy and trade, as well.
