Fans swear by its esoteric charms, even preferring it to its glitzier, West Mifflin sister.. The Pretty, The Picturesque In fact, many amusement park authorities (and who doesn't consider themselves a bit of an expert on the subject?) consider Idlewild to be the most beautiful park on the continent, and it's tough to argue. Nestled in the picturesque Laurel Mountains, Idlewild is relaxed and even a bit serene while maintaining enough thrills to entertain the whole family.
Your Children Will Love This Place Idlewild has always catered somewhat to younger children with calmer rides and Story Book Forest, where classic fairy tales come to life. In recent years, the park has built on that reputation with the addition of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood of Make-Believe, where guests ride the Neighborhood Trolley into the fabled land from Mr. Rogers' long-running children's show.
A Beautiful Park!.
As being a resident of Ligonier for six years, it was very convenient to just drive for 5 minutes and arrive at a large amusement parks. Although older children and teens, like myself, might become a little bored with the lack of large scale rides, little children will love it! It's a safe place to visit with a group of friends, and it's in a beautiful setting! Idlewild has an old fashioned feel about it that will warm your heart - and there's a good value for your money - you also get the H2O Soak Zone and Idewild Park for one price!
