I live in Wheeling, WV so I drive over an hour to visit the Uncommon Market - it's worth the trip! They have wonderful baked goods, prepared foods and canned foods that are simply not available at Krogers, Giant Eagle and other specialty markets. Some of the foods are locally made, and some are international from a variety of countries. The staff is unfailingly cooperative and friendly -- When I asked them to order a large quantity of a product I can't get locally, they offered to call me when it came in so I wouldn't make a trip unnecessarily. This place is just fun to walk around in and browse...just don't go in too hungry or you'll go crazy trying to narrow down your selection! The prepared and frozen foods are heavenly. The Christmas cookies are to die for and I wouldn't think of having a holiday gathering without making a stop here. Spices and seasonings I can't seem to find elsewhere are stocked on their shelves. It is across the street from Borders Books, so we can have great books and great food in one outing. My husband and I like to have an afternoon Saturday "date" comprised of hanging out at Borders for a while, shopping at The Uncommon Market, then taking a baked treat or other tasty snack back across the street and drinking Borders coffee with Uncommon Market snacks. Pros: Variety, quality, selection and service.
Cons: Parking at the door is limited but there always seems to be enough...there is a big lot right across the road.

The UnCommon Market offers such a great selection of prepared foods and can accomodate orders relatively quickly. I always get comments about how good the food that I serve is and many friends are now customers. The owner is particularly knowledgable about exotic-style foods and can answer most questions effectively and quickly.
