Plum >Vincent's Pizza Park Inc
Absolutely Terrible Experience. I've been making the occasional trip to Vinnie's pizza for several years now. I thought I knew what to expect of their service, as well as their food. I was wrong... I went with my family tonight and the service was terrible. I chalked the poor service up to the fact that they were crowded, but then when our pizza arrived, 1/4 of the crust was missing. I love the crust on their pizza, and when I mentioned it to my waitress she blew us off and acted like it was normal for this to happen. At the end of the night when I noticed on by bill that they had taken the liberty of assigning 15% gratuity for my party, I approached the manager. The manager was arrogant, rude, and dismissive. I simply asked to be allowed to decide how much gratuity I wanted to give after getting poor service and poor pizza, and she would make absolutely no exceptions to the bill or my forced gratuity. She tried to tell me that it's normal to get pizza with no crust, and that I was overreacting. She made no apologies for my experience, and was unwilling to make any concessions. It was...by far...the worst dining experience of my entire life. Vincent's Pizza in Plum is a dump. Apparently they think it's ok to serve you overpriced pizzas with large portions of the crust missing, and then scoff and laugh at you when you bring it up. Avoid this dirty, overcrowded shack at all costs. To those who say "you don't go for the service, you go for the pizza", I say that when I drop over $20 bucks on a single pizza pie, I expect to be served the entire pie, crust included.
You have to understand.................
You do not go for the service.
You do not go for the view.
You do not go for the variety or choices on the menu.
You do not go if you are on a diet.
You go for the best piece of pizza you will ever eat.
Yes is has pools of grease, but that is what the the thick perfectly (yes - sometimes a little burnt) crust is for. The reason it is greasy is because they put tons of cheese and toppings. In fact they pile it so high if you order more that one topping you rarely see the cheese underneath until you bite into it.
As for the price, we order a small pepporoni and it feeds all four of us. The peices are big and I can never eat more than one. If you weighed a small peporroni from Vincents I bet it weighs more than two large pizza's anywhere else.
If you are looking for a " dining experience " this is probably not for you. If you are looking for some great pizza, some pizza that is famous for what it is, and that is one of the best pizza's in Pittsburgh than that is why you go.
The best. Best pizza in pittsburgh by far
Worst place ever.
This was the worst experience of my life!
The menu was a spreadsheet print out that was confusing, there are no price listings for drinks.
Out of 3 pizza's and 5 soda's (maybe one water), the total price came to $89.50
I am sorry, but I can host a 3 pizza and 15 drinks at Chuck E. Cheese and 500+ tokens for that price tag.
I will never be going there again as the personality of the waitresses was lacking.
And, they did not explain in big enough signs on doors or anywhere that they accept cash only. I understand the concern for not wanting to deal with cards or checks, I do. But, I would not recommend this location to any one, not even in a time of good economic times.
I do hope that anyone that reads this will accept the fact that they can save money and heartache by going elsewhere.
You must work there..
We had reservation sfor 7pm. We were seated at 740pm. We obviously had time to look at the menu while we waited so we placed our order as soon as we were finally seated. At 910pm we were still waiting for the pizza.
Never again. They serve takeout orders first, those seated and waiting last.
VINCENT RULES IN PLUM. I dont care what people say negative about Vincents Plum the pizza the best the staff is wonderful never had a bad service or food!!! Greasy pizza is what its all about if you dont like that dont go !!!!!!!!!!!! THE COOK RULES AT VINNIES IN PLUM!!!!!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT
Don't Come Hungry.
1. They dont take Credit/Debit Cards
2. You will wait about 30 minutes to be seated.
3. Once you get to your table, you have about another 30 minutes until you even get a SALAD
4. Pizza finally comes out and it has large puddles of grease seeping into every inch of the dough.
5. Service is extremely slow, only 1 waitress for an ENTIRE dining room.
6. Portions are large and prices match.
Pizza doesn't come any better.
This is pizza at its best.
Did you notice that the reviews are either 5s or 1s; there's no middle ground. You either love it or you hate it. I am squarely on the I LOVE IT!! side.
There's none of this measured-out, weighed and carefully placed look. This is not health food and makes no pretense to be. It's just good ingredients, lot of them and a great taste that's unique and immediately recognizable. I started eating Vincent's at Ardmore Blvd as a high scholl student in 1964. I always enjoyed watching the master at his craft. At Ardmore there were no pretenses, no atmosphere, and great pizza. The only change at the Plum site is the family atmosphere. Four decades later I live in South Carolina but make sure that I eat a Vinnie Pie every time I get to Pittsburgh.
You go there for great pizza; you don't go for atmosphere. You go there for great pizza; you don't go there for cheap, two-for-one pizza. You go there for great pizza; you don't go there for health food.
I raised my daughter right; any time she gets to Pittsburgh, she brings one back for her old dad.
Great pizza. Man, this is the greatest Pizza in the world. I just have to stop off for a Vinnie Pie every time I'm in Pittsburgh.
