I know that rehab in any form is difficult...the change is a life long process. My father was in Harmarville almost 20 years ago and the car accident that put him there was horrific. He was a fighter pilot for 36 years, then slipped on ice in his truck on his way to work. The impact into another car left him with every bone in his body broken, except his neck and back. We lived so far from Harmerville, but we drove daily for almost five months to see him. He learned to walk WITH two Hoffman devices in each extremity. Does the staff want you out? Yes! But not because they don't care...they want you back in your life again...and that will happen, but sometimes it's just on a different path than what you thought or planned.

My father suffered a serious spinal cord injury just four weeks ago. Anyone with any medical knowledge knows that the acute phase for rehabilitation for an incomplete spinal cord injury is SIXTH MONTHS. The two lead doctors openly admitted to my father and my family that their goal was to NOT see if he could walk again, but instead to get him into a wheelchair, period. I would definitely recommend for yourself or a family member, if you want good rehabilitation care, with doctors who want to help you get better, do NOT go to this facility. They seem interested in only how quickly they can get you out the door. (Facility is also known as Healthsouth)
Cons: Not real interested in doing what their title says, "rehabilitation"
