Tips for Star Garden Chinese Restaurant

Nice small place with good food and people. They have the best Won Ton soup that is homeade ,broth perfect. I never got a dish I didn,t like. Would go no where else if it can be helped. The owner is there every time waiting on people as well as serving them and talking to them. The place is really well run and managed.

Nice, classic strip-mall Chinese restaurant!.
I try to frequent owner-owned businesses, and this small Chinese restaurant in a Pleasant Hills strip mall is one of my favorites. The Owner is there most of the time to greet and seat, take and present orders, and talk.
It seems odd, but one of my favorites on the menu is the wonton soup. The broth is homemade, not at all overly-salted (unlike every other restaurant I've been in), and the wontons are tender. The tofu and vegetables is one of my favorite main dishes, as is the mai fun (thin rice noodles with vegetables and whatever protein and a delicious sauce).
This is a very good, casual, unpretentious Chinese restaurant (as opposed to an okay, very pretentious Chinese restaurant, which shall go unnamed, at the Waterfront) and so reasonable in cost that we try to go every week. Portions are nice, too.

General Tso would be proud. Good food, good selection, good service. Really a great place to enjoy General Tso's chicken with friends or family.
