Hidden Treasures.
What a surprize! We were walking along Ellsworth and found a fantastic store,
Hey Betty! Browse the store and find all kind of hidden treasures. Good Luck and
enjoy the find.
Best Vintage in Pittsburgh. Hey Betty! has always been my favorite place to shop in Pgh and their new location is even better! It's a fun place full of great finds and I'm especially attracted to their superb selection of costume jewelry and handbags. The owners know their stuff and are very knowledgeable about various trends, designers, etc. throughout time. This place is perfect for those who really appreciate vintage clothing and accessories but don't want to dig through a bunch of nasty cheap poly stuff in the thrifts. The shop is well organized, the items are beautifully displayed and the racks (and the shop itself) aren't so jammed full that you have struggle to see the merchandise. I was looking for a particular type of necklace but didn't see anything like it in the cases. When I told the owners what I was looking for they pulled out a few boxes of necklaces and had several of that style for me to choose from. I found the perfect thing! So be sure to ask if you don't see it. Sure, the prices are a bit higher than what you'd pay at some junk shop, but for the quality and ease of shopping, it's well worth the price.
Pricey and pretentious. Fun place to browse, but too pricey to buy very much. They take themselves very seriously (too seriously, I think) and only sell "trendy" vintage items. Good for people serious about vintage items, not for the everyday thrift store fiend.
Stuff, stuff and more stuff....
As a vintage buyer, seller and definite 'wearer' this place is good. Not great but good. Their selection and diverse atmosphere is nice. Their jewelry selection is amazing, a little on the pricey side but hey look where they are paying rent...
Worth the trip.
Offering great vintage clothing and some of the best antique furniture and housewares in town..
The Scene
Downstairs contains racks of shirts, jackets and pants, along with cases of old lighters, glasses and other assorted knickknacks. Upstairs are men's and ladies jackets, dresses and shoes of all shapes and sizes. The customer base is made up of recent homemakers with a taste for kitsch, alt-rock girls and boys into old-school fashion trends and folks looking for antique items.
The Goods
Authentic bowling shirts, old shoes, 1950s lounge accessories ... anything and everything vintage is here. While upstairs, look above your head. Up in the rafters sit a few pieces of furniture unable to fit down below. Though these may not be in reach, they're certainly for sale.
Hey, Indeed!. I really enjoyed my shopping trip to Hey Betty! Three floors (if I remember correctly) jammed with dresses, tees, accessories, and more held more than enough for me to browse through. The hard part was deciding what to take home. There are dressing rooms, which was convenient, and the person behind the counter was friendly and patient. Fun for several generations -- take your family!
