Editorial Review for La Feria – by Sam Edelmann
The Scene
La Cucina Flegrea shares a door with Pamela's (upstairs) in Shadyside. Now that that's settled, don't overlook it. La Feria is a restaurant and a Peruvian crafts shop. In the restaurant section, it offers distinctive Peruvian cuisine, served casually and at very reasonable prices.
The Meals
The food is actually cooked downstairs and brought to the second floor. There are sandwiches, salads and daily specials. Try the sweet-potato chip appetizer with a cheese dipping sauce. There is one vegetarian and one meat special during the week, and on weekends, there are usually two of each. Pastel de papas (a casserole of beef, raisins and black olives in a tangy sauce and covered with whipped potatoes) and a corn casserole for vegetarians simmered with peanuts and beer are examples of the weekly specials.

We visited La Feria while in the mood for something different one Saturday evening, and it was very enjoyable! It was a very quaint dining atmosphere and the food was fantastic.

I love this place!! We need more restaurants like this and less big chains. The food is terrific and the staff is pleasant. After eating there a couple of times, they even know your name.
