a real bakery

No longer the family business it used to be, but still a very good bakery.

If you have your heart set on a favorite cake decoration, check with them carefully. They sometimes (apparently)don't have the same decorator and what you ordered before and loved may not be available or may not be recognized by the name you ordered it by before .

Coconut snowballs are wonderful.

• Pros: the best birthday cakes; great burnt almond tortes
• Cons: prices have gone up; difficult to park

Burnt Almond Tort is PERFECTION!

Their burnt almond tort is absolutely delicious, as are their little star-shaped butter cookies. BUT, things here are so expensive now! The bakery changed ownership and the prices have really skyrocketed. The little star-shaped cookies are not cheap for little cookies, especially because it would be easy to eat a half dozen alone! I really don't recommend their "normal" cookies, such as chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, etc - I have found them to be quite disappointing. Their cupcakes are good, but the two things that are truly spectacular are the burnt almond tort and butter star cookies.

• Cons: Location (parking on Walnut is awful!), Price

i wouldn't recommend going in here if you are on a diet! everything looks and smells AMAZING! their little butter cookies that are usually in the shape of stars are to die for! it's nice to go to a GREAT bakery and pay less than you'd pay at the baked goods section of a supermarket
