Editorial Review for Shadyside Market – by Tatiana Zadony
The Scene
It's hard to miss the plump fruit in the window of the Shadyside Market. The fruit may draw you in, but the unique food selection is the larger draw. Organized in neat, narrow isles, the small market has a variety of typical name brands, some interesting variations of name brands, and a few items possibly never seen before. The market has a full scale deli as well, great to grab a quick lunch.
The Goods
The market has standard fruit like apples, oranges and grapes, but there's also some not so ordinary fruit like israel mellons, asian pears and out of season berries. The maket has conventional items such as Eggo Waffles and name brand cereals, but the no-so-ordinary items include interesting cheese, organic bulgar wheat cereal and a complete line of Pepperidge Farm Soups, not just the cookies. The market has fresh fish daily, high quality steaks and a cooler with prepared Good Wives hors d'oeuvre.
