Best burnt almond torte.
All cakes are amazing. I always order them for special occasions. Icing is delicious and not too sweet. They also have talented decorators.
The burnt almond torte is amazing. It's better than Prantl's, which is supposed to be the famous place for that. In case you're not in the know, this is a moist white layer cake with custard instead of icing in the middle, butter cream icing, and toasted (not actually burned) and just slightly candied almonds all over the outside. If you order it in sheet size, they will leave an area un-almonded in the center to write a message. They routinely have smaller sizes in store for after-dinner treats or smaller parties.
Stale cookies, old cakes and pies!. I have never been to the store in brookline, the store in mt. lebanon is bad! The cookies are stale and the cakes and pies are old, not fresh!
first afterschool job. I used to work at this bakery and it was hard not to shove everything in my mouth when it came out of the oven first thing on the weekend mornings. Yum. Still go there for all my baked good needs.
Great Cake!. This has been the only place our family goes for special occasions. The baked goods are out of this world! and the owners are very friendly!
Yum!. This tiny little bakery in the heart of Brookline has been a stopping point for my family and I after church each Sunday. I'm not sure which is better: their cakes or donuts. Usually I plan to buy about $10.00 worth of baked goods and leave with $30.00! That's ok, it's worth it. Probably, the best bakery I've ever walked in to. Charles
