Editorial Review for The Catholic Store – by Frances Monahan
The Scene
What would grandma's house smell like if she had an out-of-control collection of Bibles and statues of the Infant of Prague? The Catholic Store is guilty of that musty, old-library-book smell. Scholars come here in search of books pertaining to Catholic doctrine. And because it's located on Bloomfield's main artery, it attracts a lot of passersby. Rumor has it some nuns are in the habit of shopping here. It's the perfect place to purchase a meaningful religious gift, or perhaps for someone you might want to hook up with in the afterlife.
The Goods
The store has everything you need to help you get into heaven. An interesting selection of crucifix necklaces, Holy Bibles, rosary beads, vestments for priests, as well as wall and three-dimensional art. You'll find books both old and new, like "How To Avoid Purgatory".
