A Recommendation. I have not been to Del s for a couple of years so I had to give it a 2 star rating for the type of food and service I had at the time.It was definitely not the old Dels food I knew growing up!!Because i am an inner city Pittsburgh girl thru and thru I hate to see the ruination of any of our old establishments,so, after watching the food network show and reading all the other reviews I would like to make a recommendation to you Marianne-I think you could save the restaraunt by highlighting the positive things you do have such as your pizza and maybe a signature dish such as your lasagna and your delishious marinated carrots in the salad.Maybe by just doing pizza, lasagna and an antipasto (with the signature carrots) and havng it dine in or take out would let you just concentrate on making a few things really good.As for your bad temper-I have never heard of this previously and think it may just be a result of stress, middle age (I am also middle aged so I am not trying to be disrespectful)and possibly by the fact that you have allowed some bad things to creep into the picture-illegal inspections, questionable servers etc.Hire some local kids to help clean up,get and train some local college kids to run it like a pizza place stay on the up and up-word will get around and things will turn around.Sinceely wishing yo the very best.

Good Food-Love the atmosphere!. As a supporter of family owned establishments-I truly love this place! I love not being rushed. The owner Marianne makes me feel that she has known me all my life. And the large portions of food are great for late night leftovers. Of course if you eat mostly at chain restaurants, where the food is brought in frozen so it taste the same all over the country, your palate may not be fit for real people in the kitchen cooking your food. My friends and I go to Del's now at least twice a month. We love the Dinners & the Sunday brunch is worth waking up early to get there!

AN AWFUL NIGHT. The only reason I even gave it one star is the owner was trying so hard. The food was terrible. We were looking for a restaurant for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. Had reservations, it didn't matter. From the appetizers to through the end of the entree the food was lukewarm. We were seated in the downstairs room, which has not been redone by Food Network, so atmosphere was dreary and we were seated by a juke box that kept playing randomly -- some might enjoy that, we didn't. A party of 8, no alcohol, or dessert, much of the food was returned, never asked if it could be rectified. Fried shrimp dinner very overcooked in very old oil french fries couldn't even be eaten, meatballs were not edible, couldn't tell what banana peppers were stuffed with, wasn't even sure if it was meat. . and I could continue. . . I am a coffee drinker and the coffee was good. I would absolutely not recommend Del's to anyone and actually it is a shame because it could be a thriving business.

NOT WORTH THE TRIP!. First of all, it's a hassle trying to park in an area with a very questionable establishment almost directly across the street. We walked in and it took several minutes before we were acknowledged and taken to our seats. It was quite some time before our waitress appeared and she had tears in her eyes. She apologized for the delay in getting to our table. She said that the owner, Maryanne DelPizzo, had just embarassed her in front of one of her tables. We were told that this lady treats her help this way quite often.

We ordered our drinks and our food. My wife had the Chicken Parm and I had the Lasagna. Neither of the entrees had much sauce on thm. It looked as thoughthey had added water to the sauce to make it stretch through the remainder of the night. My lasagna was lukewarm at best. The salad, if that is what you want to call it, consisted of some pretty limp lettuce, a couple of onions, one cherry tomato. Not much of a salad! I was reluctant to complain to the waitress as I didn't want to give her boss another reason to yell at her or embarass her in front of anymore patrons.

Neither of us finished our meals. The waitress asked us if we wanted boxes. We both declined. If the food wasn't good there, I doubt that it was going to get any better withage! I don't think that my Boxer dog would have eaten the leftovers. We got our check. The total was high for the quality of what we got. I reluctantly paid the bill and left the waitress a tip. It wasn't her fault! We will never step foot into Del's Restaurant again.

JUST DON'T. All the negitive reviews are so true about this place. They must be getting illegal inspections every year. the kitchens are filthy. There are critters everywhere, including the bread. The owners are just nasty. I haven't figured it out if they are over medicated or coming down off their high. Everything is micro-waved, except for the pasta, and if you saw how that was plated, you wouldn't eat it. Marianne is just an ill-tempered c#*t. Even when a guest gives her a compliment about the server she will find SOMETHING nasty to say. Anything to belittle someone. The only way to trip her is to just not take her s#&t. There was a older server working who stood in the kitchen during on of Marianne's tantrums and just gave her the finger. And not behind her back. Right in front of her. Marianne started to yell, and she just told her to "Shut the F#&*up" and walked out of the kitchen. She quit a couple weeks ago for a better job, but she was good for putting Marianne in her place. And as for drugs, you can find almost anything you want. Someone needs to contact the ACHD, the IRS, and the DEA. The infractions that go on there are just unbelievaable. But if you want to become one of Marianne's pets all you have to be is gay and talk about, in detail, your sex life. Then, you get all the good parties, the good sections the best nights and if you work overtime you get paid CASH!!!!!!!!!! You don't have to have any culinary skills to work in the kitchen. Most of the cooks got their experience from the county jail. She must get some kind of kick back from the city. If they haven't been in jail then they are in some kind of halfway house. You don't want to take anything of value inside with you because isomething might just come up missing. this is the only restaurant I have worked, where there are camera's everywhere. In the kitchen, in the basement, in the bar, OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if they are watching the employee's or each other, and who is stealing off of whom???? Save your money. The food is awful, the diningroom is too bright, the music is too loud and you know when Marianne is in the building because you can no longer hear the music over her; and she is in the kitchen. It's not the food that will give you heartburn, but the whole dining experience. Don't say I didn't warn you.
