Editorial Review for Alexander's Restaurant – by Natalie Rieland

The Scene
Mostly older couples and families out for some terrific pasta, and they are not disappointed. The dining area is moderate, filled with tables and booths. Service is friendly.

The Food
This is an Italian restaurant with a clever twist: Create your own pasta dish. It's a mix-and-match affair with eight different pastas, 13 sauces (three are fat-free) and 15 accompaniments ranging from mushrooms to shrimp. There is always the perfect combination for any pasta lover. A number of unusual dishes as well as pizzas are offered alongside the pasta choices. The fried eggplant and mozzarella dish is recommended for vegetarians, and the chicken soave (with tomatoes, red peppers, portabella, sun-dried tomatoes, broccoli and potatoes) is a delight.

This is a favorite friday night dinner spot of my boyfriends and I. We usually start off with a nice glass of wine and fried zucchini. It is out of this world good. I usually get the pasta marfredo. I love the mix of marinara and alfredo. My boyfriend LOVES the chicken parmesan. If we have extra room we get to split either the tiramisu or the rice pudding. Its a total tie on which we get because they are both fantastic. Actually I dont think I have ever gotten something I didn't like here. Its all good. We love going on friday nights because of the hostess Denny, he is very outgoing and funny. He really makes you feel welcome. If we go late enough he hands out the extra loafs of FRESH italian bread.

Pros: Service, Selection

(long) The only reason anyone eats at Del's is that it is the first resturant they see coming off the bridge. If they only knew what was up the avenue a little further. I am a homemade sauce kind-a-girl, I love Italian food but I rather not eat it out. All that said, Alexanders is not only great place for lunch with the family but perfect for a romantic night out. The herbs and seasoning in the sauce are mouth watering. And if you happen to finish a whole portion there isn't a puddle of water at the bottom of your bowl(like other Bloomfield Italian Resturants). The whole staff is extremely friendly and efficient. I recommend this place for private parties whether in their hall or their catering, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Sauce, Service, Seating

Cons: Dave
