The crown jewel of venues in the Cultural District, for good reason..
Overview
Heinz Hall houses the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mariss Jansons. He nurtures the Hall's full-bodied sound to project to its far corners, from the VIP balconies to the front rows of tuxedoed upper-crusters, all the way back to the seats in peanut heaven, where students can grab a half-price rush ticket one hour before the concert begins. The symphony also attracts many of the world's most famous soloists to give their finest performances.
The Experience
Seven weeks of Marvin Hamlisch's "Pops" concerts play here, as well as a "Popular Classics" series, which features an all-classical play list. Heinz Hall also hosts a "Tiny Tots" series for school groups of children. An evening spent in the elegance and splendor of Heinz Hall is truly one of Pittsburgh's most coveted cultural experiences.
