Editorial Review for Bally Sports Club – by Todd Thimons
The Scene
Tucked away in the midst of Pittsburgh's Cultural District, Bally Sports Club is a fitness guru's utopia, so massive that one could conceivably break a sweat just walking through the place. The amount of fat-burning, calorie-quenching, muscle-pumping equipment is extensive. Cardiovascular machines--stairmasters, treadmills, lifecycles, etc.--check. Free weights, check. Nautilus and circuit equipment, check, check. For the more aerobic-based, an indoor track, a racquetball court, and a full-length basketball court are available.
Need Pampered?
For a place intended to induce discomfort, Bally's doesn't fall short in the pampering department. Go for a swim in the three-lane, three-to-six-feet-deep pool or unwind in the sauna. Treat pulsating muscles to a massage or cadaverous skin to a tanning session. Go in the lounge, containing a refreshment bar and one of the club's several televisions.
