This store is evil. This store is a joke. The books are garbage. The owner is a complete tool bag. I met the a$$hole before. He is one of those guys who has never worked a hard day in his life. His rich father pretty much gave him the money to start this business, and he has no clue how to run it. He makes his warehouse stock workers perform their duties in an unheated warehouse for minimum wage, and he hires illegal immigrants. The owner is an evil man, and he is exactly whats wrong with America today. Silver spoon fed a$$hole's who only care about thier bank account. If you are a true American, you will stay well away from this evil man, and his half-assed business.

The last bookstore. I was glad to have stumbled onto this bookstore in Macy's. Since Borders has closed I thought any lunch time book browsing was over. The store is a bit crammed, and selections aren't huge. They do offer some great discounts. They can't discount brand new books, but who does? If you haven't read the book, then it's new to you. I have ordered several books from them. Once I added shipping to online purchases it was the same price.

best bookstore in town. While shopping in Macy's I stumbled upon a bookstore on the 9th floor. Boy, was it a surprise!!! After almost two ours I walked out with close to $200 worth of books. Just about everything in there is more than half off. Stuff I had just purchase at Borders was selling for half of what I had just paid. The staff was great, they even boxed up my books and had one of the young men carry everything to my car.

I just started working downtown and will make sure I visit whenever possible. I hope I have the money for it!!!

Overpriced. I'll start off with the good: The customer service is good. The clerk was helpful and chatty. Current magazine selection.

The bad: The selection and discounts aren't very good. Some of the books are so out of date and irrelevant they should be under $5. The newspaper selection was awful. Most gas stations carry the NY Times - and NO POST GAZETTE - a free paper would have been nice. The art section was sad.

The ugly: Nothing is alphabetized - it's impossible to find a title/author. The store is arranged by subject - even the sales clerk seemed to have a hard time finding titles. I was told that they could order what I wanted - but the wait was longer than any other bookstore or internet site, which I thought was ridiculous when I was told that I had to pay the full price of the book. Where are the discounts, you ask? The discount sections were crammed full of stacks of books I wouldn't even give as gifts. It truly is a shame that the only bookstore in downtown Pittsburgh is one of those poorly stocked remainder outlets. I thought they were trying to clean up this town's image - why are we getting bad parking AND bad books?
