Editorial Review for De Luca's Restaurant – by Sam Edelmann
The Scene
It wouldn't be far-fetched to imagine that as long as there have been restaurant polls in Pittsburgh, De Luca's has won for best breakfast. As the Strip has evolved into a shopping area, the hours have changed, but the food has not.
The Food
There's a whole ham on a stand; the meat is cut off the bone to order. Short-order cooks run their grills with eggs on one side, pancakes on the other and home fries in the back. One spectacular omelet is the frittata, which has eggs mixed with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and a dusting of grated parmesan. The coffee is hot and strong, and the veteran waitresses have built up strong arm muscles from all the pouring. Seating is tough on Saturdays, but on other days, the tables are accessible.

I took my husband with me this time. The atmosphere was great; only in Pittsburgh. The food was plenty. There were more choices on the menu that I would ever have guessed. The workers never stopped moving and the line was out the door. I will go back again and again. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the food. GREAT PANCAKES.
Pros: GREAT PANCAKES
Cons: NONE

All the food at this rest. is fantastic. I have ordered ~1/2 dozen different combinations and ALL were fantastic. The quantity if pleasing, the coffee is great.
