Editorial Review for F. Tambellini Ristorante – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh's cultural district, F. Tambellini's hosts many an office luncheon or party (there's a large private party room in back). Don't leave without trying the signature dish: deep-fried zucchini (shake grated Romano on it or dip it in the accompanying dish of marinara sauce). Other popular choices include include traditional veal parmigiana, lemony shrimp piccata and savory chicken Marsala.

This is the first time I have written a review, but after treating my mouth to one of its best experiences ever, I felt that I had to write. I'm not usually a fan of Chicken Parmigiana, but for some reason it sounded particularly tasty that night so I ordered it. It was by far the best chicken parmigiana that I have ever had !!!!! The medley of tastes that delighted my palate were almost indescribable. I just kept telling anyone who would listen that I had just eaten the best ever. If you're ever in the mood for chicken parmigiana, run - don't walk - to Tambellini's on 7th Street. Trust me on this. You'll soon be writing your own rave review.

We have dined here many times and keep coming back. The service is always courteous and attentive but not overbearing. We love the fact that you can enjoy your dinner without feeling rushed. The chicken marsala is tender and flavorful and one of my favorites. But to be honest, it is hard to choose which is our favorite since everything we have ever eaten has been hot, flavorful and the portions are generous. We always go home with enough for another meal. We are looking forward to dinner there next week before the show.

Pros: good food, courteous service, generous portions

Cons: no elevator if you have difficulty with stairs
