Traditional Korean Restaurant - - - Authentic Korean food and absolutely awesome sushi!!!!!!!. Sushi Kim is the only authentic Korean restaurant in Pittsburgh that hasn't been modified to a purely American palate. You will see and hear Koreans eating there . . . I took several Korean exchange students there for a break from McDonalds and they said that it was better than home!!!!! The first thing you experience is the aroma when you enter. I love it. If your hungry, your mouth begins to water. I like all the food.... some of the dishes are so strange and are unlike what you find in other places. But they are delicious. Koreans use alot of hot spice, and so if you like that, your a fan. I am getting used to it, and the kimchi is delicious. So are these little appetizers that they bring before your main meal. All kinds of strange things that you will never see at Fridays. I once heard a saying that "Minds are like parachutes. . . they only work when open". This applies here. When you start to nibble on these things they bring you, your eyes will pop-open. The taste is incredible. Why would you deny yourself this culinary experience? Life is too short!!! As for Sushi, they have a staff that is both friendly and efficient. The sushi bar is fun, not like the austere environment of a Japanese sushi bar. For those who have concern about Korean sushi, you should remember that the Japanese are really people who are genetically identical to the Koreans.....the Japanese migrated from the Korean peninsula and settled Japan eons ago, taking the best with them. The Koreans have maintained a less formal approach to presentation, which is comforting and fun. I love the place. Drink, eat, and be merry applies here. You will make friends too.

Excellent recommendation!. We were advised to get the "best sushi" in Pittsburgh here and they were right! Great selection of fresh fish, wonderful rolls and maki. The service was efficient and fast. On Mondays their kitchen is closed so it's just sushi and you get 10% off your bill. Great deal! If I'm ever in Pittsburgh again, I'll be stopping by for dinner!

Great Sushi, Wonderful Dishes, beware of drink prices!. I have never had a bad meal at Sushi Kim. I think their food is great. I have never tried their Korean BBQ buffet, but I look forward to that one evening.

If you sit at the Sushi Bar, Michael is a common fixture behind the Sushi counter and a really friendly, funny person. He really makes the experience there even better!

I have always find their fish to be fresh tasting. Their kim-chee is delicious.

One word of caution.... They sell a bottled alcoholic drink there called "soju" it is $4.19 for a bottle ( about 12 oz ) in the liquor store . SUSHI KIM CHARGES $15.00 FOR A BOTTLE. When I questioned the owner about it, she was very short with me. I think their food is reasonably priced, but that is really a crazy mark-up on the alcohol. Will go back, will not order anything alcoholic there.

should have been voted worst sushi. I have been to many sushi resturants all over the world, but I have to say this was the worst sushi I have ever seen I couldn't even eat some of it. The uni looked like it was from the 80's. The korean food was average so at least I didn't starve. I have never had to return sushi before. The atmosphere was good and service was excellent. I went there with high expectations after they have been voted best sushi for so many years. but the quality of the fish was below subpar. stay away...

"Delicious" Korean B.B.Q Buffet. The korean B.B.Q buffet is the best I have tried in Pittsburgh. It is "all you can eat". Pittsburgh Post Gazette also highly recommended it.There are a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and korean side dishes. You cook the food on your table, and the atmosphere of the second floor is nice.

Sushi. I had sishimi (sliced fish). It cost ~$9.00 and was very bland. I couldn't tell pieces of one type of fish from pieces of another type. Given its consistency and lack of flavor, the fish had probably been frozen and thawed. And on a more minor note, the soy sauce (which you needed if you wanted flavor) was not very good.
