The Scene
Located between Downtown and the Strip District, Sushi Kim is an easy walk away from Downtown hotels. It's empty at lunch, surprisingly, as it offers a good value in both sushi and cooked dishes. For dinner, there's a full range of sushi and sashimi, along with different types of rolls (try the salmon skin or the spicy tuna). Combination plates and "boats" are offered in various sizes for the hungry and adventurous.
The Food
In addition, there's an amazing menu that looks like a family photo album, offering a large selection of Korean and Japanese dishes, including seafood pancakes the size of pizzas and numerous pork and noodle items, often with a miso soup base. Grilled pork shows up in soups and main dishes, and should not be missed. Mr. Kim has used kimchi in ways that are unfathomable, but everything tried worked beautifully, and packed a significant amount of heat.

Sushi Kim is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh, hands down. From all the friends and family members I have brought to Sushi Kim for the great food, they were amazed. The atmosphere was smooth and very elegant as we waited for our food and the wait staff was very friendly. We were greeted to our food extremely well by the beautiful little side dishes before our meal. The sushi was prepared in a wooden boat which was a sight to behold and the staff cooperated with all of our requests. The second floor barbeque was also magnificent as it was all you can eat with fresh meat. The meat on the second floor was raw so it was self-serve but the waiters gladly helped us with preparing the food and taking care of us. The overall experience at Sushi Kim is one of the best in Pittsburgh as it brings many dimensions to all of its customers. I had so many options from choosing between the first floor restaurant and the second floor buffet. My dining experience at Sushi Kim is excellent as it opened my eyes to the Korean culture and it brought me closer to eating delicous food everytime I go. I would recommend Sushi Kim to anyone who wants for great food.

Sushi Kim is my favorite sushi restaurant in Pittsburgh. They have great sushi, excellent service, cool atmosphere and very affordable prices. The maki rolls are very large and filling at a very reasonable price. They serve a complimentary miso soup that is delicious. Be sure to try the salad with ginger dressing as well. The service is very prompt and everyone is really nice. If you are looking for sushi in Pittsburgh, Sushi Kim is your best bet. We love it!

The atmosphere can't be beat! The sushi is fresh and the service is wonderful. They offer a great variety of sushi items on their menu. The sushi chef's are very friendly and deserve a good tip.
