The Scene – Located between Downtown and the Strip District, Sushi Kim is an easy walk away from Downtown hotels. It's empty at lunch, surprisingly, as it offers a good value in both sushi and cooked dishes. For dinner, there's a full range of sushi and sashimi, along with different types of rolls (try the salmon skin or the spicy tuna). Combination plates and "boats" are offered in various sizes for the hungry and adventurous. – – The Food – In addition, there's an amazing menu that looks like a family photo album, offering a large selection of Korean and…
bad korean dishes

don't order the korean dishes! especially the beef short ribs and the spicy pork. We went there for dinner and afterwards got very bad stomach immediately. The beef was so oily, undercooked, and tastes much worse compared to that in oishi bento in oakland. I will never go there again

I've had the privilege to chaperone exchange students from Korea around Pittsburgh. My group was here for about a month, and the previous chaperones took them everywhere American, which is great. When I travel, I want to live as the locals live, no better way. But sometimes I just want a good-ole American cheezeburger. So..... I just mentioned in passing if they wanted to go to a Korean restaurant, and they all practically yelled YES in unison. We went, and they said it was better than home. That was all I needed to sell me. And besides, it is delicious!
If bad sushi was a crime, this place deserves life.

I have enjoyed sushi all over the world, and consider myself an aficionado, but this place takes the cake for the absolute worst. The Ikura was mushy and warm, the roe should be cool and firm and explode in your mouth. The Uni was tough, old, and made me gag (Uni is also my favorite along with Toro and Fugu). The clam was soft, warm, and miniscule. This is the first time in my life that I have not been able to complete my meal. This is the first time I have ever been compelled to compose a review, but feel an obligation to protect my fellow sushi lovers. I am just waiting now to get sick.
- Pros: Service: good waiter
- Cons: The health department should pay a visit

Sushi Kim is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh, hands down. From all the friends and family members I have brought to Sushi Kim for the great food, they were amazed. The atmosphere was smooth and very elegant as we waited for our food and the wait staff was very friendly. We were greeted to our food extremely well by the beautiful little side dishes before our meal. The sushi was prepared in a wooden boat which was a sight to behold and the staff cooperated with all of our requests.
The second floor barbeque was also magnificent as it was all you can eat with fresh meat. The meat on the second floor was raw so it was self-serve but the waiters gladly helped us with preparing the food and taking care of us.
The overall experience at Sushi Kim is one of the best in Pittsburgh as it brings many dimensions to all of its customers. I had so many options from choosing between the first floor restaurant and the second floor buffet. My dining experience at Sushi Kim is excellent as it opened my eyes to the Korean culture and it brought me closer to eating delicous food everytime I go. I would recommend Sushi Kim to anyone who wants for great food.
