What People Are Saying About Il Piccolo Forno

In Short – Italian businessmen have been known to converse in their native language while sipping espresso and nibbling on pastries at Antonio and Carla Branduzzi's pasticceria. They're here because chef Antonio (schooled in Lucca) brings authenticity to his recipes. Despite the meager seating arrangements, the daily pasta specials and torta rustica attract a dependable lunch crowd. Still, this place is known primarily for baked goods: focaccias, biscotti and wondrous cream puffs.

The ambience is nice, however the service is usually terrible. I have eaten here 3 times, and I honestly don't see what the big deal is. The food is mediocre, with exception to the pizza which is decent.
The waitstaff is hit or miss. I respect the fact that they don't have alcohol and its BYOB, however our server charged our entire party a "corking" feeper person for beer that we bought across the street. The beer was twist off, so that was pretty ridiculous. On top of that she was very cold.
I'd go somewhere else.
