The Scene – The city's largest hotel opened in 1959 and reflects the uninspired architecture of that era. Fortunately, the interior follows a different drummer. With a location near Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, the property is busy on fall weekends. It's also near numerous corporate offices, which brings in business crowds. – – The Details – Some rooms have a country look, with pretty checked curtains, striped wallpaper and simple wood furnishings. Suites feature soft earth tones and pastels, and furnishings are a contemporary take on French provincial decor.…
Owned by Foreign Investment Company, A Mess!

I recently had a very bad experience here. I booked a two bed room (they called a suite on the special executive floor) for my employee and I. They only had one bed available when I got there and NO parking. They told me they had Valet and Self Park. But when I got there at 12 MIDNIGHT, they made me walk through downtown Pittsburgh to a parking garage BY MYSELF to park my car. They did not have someone to escort me; they were short handed they said. The food I had ordered was not in my room (I had flown all day) and they were doing construction ON MY DOOR until 3 in the morning. When I called repeatedly and asked them to stop they said they would. When the construction continued I called again and again and they finally informed me that the construction manager refused to stop. He said he was under a deadline and I'd just have to deal with it. Pretty Ugly treatment. I didn't rant and rave but I had to ask to be moved. Please note that this construction involved VERY strong fumes from a chemical they were applying all over the door. The men applying the liquid wore no safety gloves or breathing masks and it was really strong stuff. I could go on and on. I got so tired of the abuse so I took pictures. If anyone wants to challenge this review bring it on. There is more than just this. Know that this hotel is apparently no longer owned by Hilton but by an Indian Investment Co. I think that explains the inhuman treatment. They, of course, wanted full payment for the two bed room they didn't give me. What a mess!
- Pros: Overlooks a park
- Cons: Exceptionally Bad Treatment
