The Scene
The city's largest hotel opened in 1959 and reflects the uninspired architecture of that era. Fortunately, the interior follows a different drummer. With a location near Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, the property is busy on fall weekends. It's also near numerous corporate offices, which brings in business crowds.

The Details
Some rooms have a country look, with pretty checked curtains, striped wallpaper and simple wood furnishings. Suites feature soft earth tones and pastels, and furnishings are a contemporary take on French provincial decor. Eight luxury suites have entertaining space. Located on floors 22 through 24, the concierge level has its own elevator and registration desk; a stay here includes breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres. All accommodations have either river and park or stadium and theater district views. Two floors of meeting space (36,000 square feet) include a Grand Ballroom and Executive Conference Center.

Nicest downtown hotel

If you are going to be staying downtown; stay at the Hilton. Great views of Mt. Washington & the Point. Great service, Always helpful staff, nice rooms. We have stayed here numerous times & keep comming back.

Pros: views, service, confort

Cons: can be pricey, distance
