Editorial Review for Spaghetti Warehouse – by John Reynolds

The Scene
Customers find a small bar for the adults and a few video games for the kids. A genuine Port Authority streetcar dating from the mid-20th century dominates the interior. Customers should call ahead if streetcar dining is the object. There's also a kids' menu where every entree is under $4. Register the children for the Birthday Club and on their birthday they'll receive a free kids entree or a piece of birthday cake.

The Food
A pleasant array of pastas and sandwiches, including the manicotti, which is delicious, and the vegetables in the minestrone has a measure of firmness that distinguishes it from the slightly mushy specimens normally present in soup. The smoky flavor of the spinach-artichoke dip is a pleasant surprise. In the summer, weekdays are busier than weekends. The reverse is true in winter. Be forewarned: Marquee cultural events downtown, especially those popular with children, can mean a busy night at the Spaghetti Warehouse.

First, free parking!...you can't find that downtown anywhere. We had an excellent server who suggested a new shrimp dish, she told us that they make all of their sauces from scratch every day. We're Wednesday regulars, they have Spaghetti with salad, bread, and soft drink for only $4.99. We were pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the restaurant was. Our kids love to sit in the real life trolley car inside the restaurant. My favorite dining room is the bedroom, they have brass beds converted into booths, large enough to sit the whole family!

Pros: Free Parking, Great Value, Huge Portions, Kid Friendly

Cons: Sometimes busy, best bet is to call ahead.

The place was dirty. A friend of mine works in the kitchen and he said he wont eat there at first I thought he was kidding because he laughed..then I was shown the kitchen...UNREAL were are the inspectors? Seems like that just place that green sticker on windows anymore. I didnt like the sauce at all. Believe me I wont be back to that establishment!

Pros: nothing

Cons: dirty
