I recently held a surprise birthday party at Mitchell's. Everything was wonderful. They have a beautiful banquet room. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive and friendly. We had about 75 people for buffet dinner. The party went really well. Many people at our party said what a great time they had and complimented Mitchell's. The Banquet Manager was great to work with right from the first time that I called to inquire about their facilities. I will definately have parties there in the future.
Pros: Private Banquet Room

Mitchell’s has been in business for over 100 years for very good reason. The atmosphere is friendly and the food is fresh and tasty (as evidenced by the large lunch crowds.) Portions of all menu items are generous, but the burgers and sandwiches are almost colossal! And prices are oh so reasonable. To go along with the superior food, the bartenders and service staff are some of the best in the City. AND, the entire second floor is set aside as a non-smoking section for those who so choose. As to the prior two negative “reviews,” it is clear to me that certain people are bitter and antagonistic simply because the owners of Mitchell’s had the gumption to stand up and assert their rights (successfully, it should be noted) to run their business as they see fit, in defiance of screeching ninnies who would impose their will on all of society and then shriek at and shout down those who even remotely dissent and only want to be free to make their own choices. As for me, I say, “Keep up the good work, Mitchell’s!”
Pros: Large portions at good prices, and a friendly crowd!
Cons: Kitchen closes at 7:00 p.m. weekdays.
