The new scam / scheme

by WatcherX at Citysearch

Banks in 2008 made a handsome 48 billion dollars in NSF fees .........and PNC helped themselves to a big part of that pie. PNC as most people have already experienced tries to make us believe NSF fees are good Banking, helping us to pay items that would generally be declined and just charge us $36 for that $.79 cent donut. PNC tells you that they do this because it is a convienace that customers want.

Really? Then why has the Federal Government stepped in and changed this atrocity to stop this outrageous behavior on the part of Big Banks.

As of July 1, 2010 you can decline being enrolled in PNC Overdraft Protection and never again get a $36 charge for a cup of coffee. PNC is also trying to make you believe that this was their idea ( how wonderful they are ) and not the fact that they and all Federally Insured banks were forced to comply because of the many calls, letters and e-mails from customers to government representatives to put an end to this despicable type of banking policy that allows this industry to put a gun to our backs and rob us.

PNC also, as you probably experienced, sorts your daily debits / payments from the higher dollar amount to the lower dollar amount, meaning the largest payment gets paid first and if that causes an NSF then all the donuts and ice teas following it cost you $36 each. PNC says that this is because, again, people want this service so that their mortgage payments (usually a large payment) gets paid first. Really? If PNC is paying my bills and charging me $36 a transaction then why does PNC have to pay the mortgage first? And why is congress looking in to this policy to change this or make it optional. Why? Because it’s almost illegal.

Now that PNC is getting nervous about losing all that 48 billion revenue they have come up with a new scheme / scam. PNC used to have a brief period of time that if you had an overdraft, especially in Pending Transactions you could run to the bank or ATM and cover your mistake……………..not anymore, look-out they charge you $36 immediately at the transaction / terminal, no more grace period, period.

Write Congress and tell them thanks ……..and ask that they stop the sorting rip-off and the immediate NSF fee currently being used by such an powerful industry.

I ask you, when did bankers become so unscrupulous as to rob the low income people of their hard earned money just to line their pockets with bonus and undeserved profits.

Can’t they just do a better job at basic banking, principled and customer oriented?
