Editorial Review for Jose & Tony's – by Jimmy O'Donnell
The Scene
Hardly a border town burrito stop, Jose & Tony's is a two-faced Mexican restaurant. The first room is picnic tabled where patrons walk up to the counter, scan the menu on the wall and order. Then either sit or take your order number to the bar side that features two TVs and enough Miller Beer paraphernalia to make a college kid jealous. (There's also a big-screen television in the first room.)
The Food
The burrito deluxe was thick and choked full of ground beef, topped with lettuce and tomato and smothered with a sour cream sauce. The soft taco is a better pick than the hard taco. The nachos were topped with mild jalapenos, cheese and taco sauce. Mexican beer is well-represented with Dos Equis, Corona and Tecate all in bottles.

Jose and Tony's is a great neighborhood joint. I have been going there for over 10 years and never had bad food or service. You get quality food for a reasonable price.
Pros: prices, service

I can’t believe that anybody could possibly write a positive review of this place that calls itself a Mexican Restaurant. I saw a review that said “Fast Mexican Food for the Easily Satisfied”. I am evidently not easily satisfied!!! When I spend over $30 on a dinner I expect a little more than paper plates and plastic ware. The service was terrible. Me and my fiancée were told that our orders were “Interesting” after we ordered a steak quesadilla and a burrito with extra cheese. After waiting for 20 minutes I realized that we were missing something that is in my experience pretty common in most Mexican Restaurants--Chips and Salsa. When I asked the girl at the ordering stall if we were to receive complimentary chips and salsa or if they were extra, she looked at me very confused like and asked do you mean with cheese? After brief silence, I told her that I just wanted the chips and salsa, and she acted very confused like, as to say why would you come to a Mexican Restaurant and order such a thing? Then she charged me $3 for bagged, stale chips and mediocre salsa. Then when we finally got our meal we were briefly amazed that they were on paper plates and that the quality of the food was slightly better than Taco Bell or QDoba. Very disappointing!!!
