It's cool.
I've been there twice and I'm glad it's not another college bar. The bartenders are nice, the drinks are good, the clientele seem like ballers who just mind their own business and play good hip hop on the jukebox lol. I like it and am looking forward to goin back. Especially since I'm single now and there are mostly guys there haha.

Did this go toilet diving with Mitchell's??.
Mitchell's & Luna used to rock! They were great college bars. What has happened here???
They both are terrible places now. Total shadows of their former selves. The owners of these places should be pimped slapped for their neglegence to their once proud establishments. When the Luna was on the corner, it was a great college bar. Not its a total dump. The crowd in their was terrible....
What gives????

Not as bad as Chief's but close...
the bartender is nice and the place is clean. there are some old timers that just chill out, but there are some dangerous young thugs that pack heat and sling dope. not a solid place. easy to get bad stuff here too. not as bad as chief's but some of the same clientelle... which has chased away the college crowd and ushered in the junkies.

A Seedy Spot.
Like it's neighbor Chief's, this is a seedy little den. I saw the hippy bartender toss a few troublemakers out here and there, but they have problems keeping this place safe from all the riff raff that has overtaken N. Craig Street. They need to raise their prices, get some quality brews on tap and get some college kids working there again. With businesses and hospitals nearby, this place could probably do a decent little lunch business. it seems that the owner is content on selling cheap beer for change to bums and vagrants...what a shame!
The college kids used to run this place when it was fun not anymore

The bartender Greg is a super nice dude, but the crowd is not cool. lots of troublemakers and thugs.
Not as bad as Chief's but could be their JV squad or feeder system..they do at leat keep the place clean inside. chief's & mitchell's havent been cleaned since the 8th grade class picnic.

Yes, it's a dive, but a dive in a very, very good way..
The Stigma
There's a lot of negative connotations attached to the term "dive bar," especially with glossy theme bars spreading across the city. But it's in dive bars where you'll find the most diversity and flavor you could find anywhere in Pittsburgh. Luna has this in spades. The clientele is an odd mix of older Hill District folks and younger college kids, with a few odds and ends thrown in.
The Scene
The bar itself is small--of course--and yet makes room for a DJ and dance floor. The bar bends and seats about 12. Tables crowd the remaining area, making it often difficult to navigate to the bathrooms (in the back, and surprisingly clean).
College Kids, Eh?
Well yes, but not too many. With the proliferation of other "safer" and "cleaner" bars in North Oakland, not too many venture to Luna on Friday and Saturday nights. For those interested, however, the drink prices are good and low, and the jukebox is loaded with a mix of 1980's pop and present-day hip-hop.
