Tips for Sciulli's Pizza

Still Here!!!. I just moved back to Pittsburgh after a hiatus for med school. It's funny, I have to say that I didn't miss living in Oakland, but I definitely missed Sciulli's. I remember this place being a smoky little joint where it seemed everyone knew everyone else, and the awesome pizza. Now there's no smoking allowed in restaurants here, but everything else is the same. Same people even - the boys that worked here are all grown up now. I'm a native of the Burgh, and grew up with all the other places too, Vincent's, Pino's, Mineos... It's just my opinion, but I'll take this any day of the week, and twice on saturday!

best pizza by far. The regular round and pan pizzas here are the best I've had around here. It would be nice if there was parking on fifth avenue, but it's not too bad to park down on forbes and walk up. You can't beat the prices here either. I'm reading the instructions above, and to be more specific, what makes the pizzas good are the crust, which is dense and very flavorful, fresh ingredients (no canned mushrooms), and the sauce is excellent. They don't skimp on the cheese either. I've just just made myself hungry for their pizza typing this.

give this place a try. Hi

I'm a regular at Sciulli's, and I have to say that I'm addicted to the Chicken Salad. It's a large salad with lots of tomato and cheese and topped with fresh off the oven chicken. I've tried the subs here too and they are all very good. It's busy around lunch, but it never takes long to get your food. Everybody loves the pizza from here, too.

Best pizza you'll find.. Love the pizza here. For lunch, you can get a junior round for four bucks and be set

for the rest of the day. I don't know why this place isn't voted best pizza in Pittsburgh.

There are usually soap operas on TV for the lunch crowd from the hospitals, and

there are regulars that know each other here, so it's a comfortable atmosphere. I always

just get the pizza, but I see others getting meals and salads, and they look good as well.

Best pizza anywhere. I work in Oakland and felt like taking a walk to find someplace new for lunch a while back and found this place. It is sort of out of the way if you're in Oakland, since it takes 5 or 10 minutes to walk down 5th to get here, but it is worth it. I can't believe how good the food is here, especially considering the prices. The round pizzas are hands down the best I've ever had. This is what the other reviewers said too, so don't just take my word for it. In my opinion, the only other place that comes close is called From Italy over in Springdale, and they won best pizza in Pittsburgh this year. I noticed that you can get meals here too, but I haven't tried them yet. I have tried the subs, which are excellent, especially the meatball. I had this grilled chicken salad and some fried mushrooms, which were also great. They do close a little early, since it is mostly a lunch crowd here.

Unmatched value!. During my senior year, I lived on Chesterfield Road. I didn't discover Sciulli's (which is right across the street) until about a month into the school year. Well, once I found it, I can honestly tell you, Sciulli's would be on my table at least twice a week. The prices cannot be beat. For example, you can get a hearty portion of chicken parmesan served with a large chef salad & bread for just $6. Provolone sticks are a mere $2.25. And chicken wings? A miniscule $3.25. You might think that the quality of the food must be compromised by the low prices. Wrong! I've had salads and hoagies from at least a dozen places around Oakland. The food served at Sciulli's is just as good (if not better than) any of the other places I've tried. It's not exactly in the heart of Oakland, but it's worth the trip if you want a delicious and affordable meal.

wonderful. I work in Oakland at UPMC Presby. I have heard since I started here about how this place has the best pizza and subs, and a couple of my friends get the chicken salad. It's all true. I don't even really like pizza that much and I absolutely love the pizza here. I think that they make the crust from scratch, at least with the hand tossed and pan pizzas. Try the chicken salad too.

It's the best.. Wow, no contest. I've lived in Pittsburgh my entire life, but I had never been to Sciulli's until recently. The hand-tossed round pizzas here are far better than anything else you'll find in Pittsburgh. The prices are great too.

the best pizza I have ever had. To eruditely express my feelings for the food here, I would have to say that you must be entirely lacking appreciation of quality food to not enjoy Sciulli's pizza. It seems that, in addition to attaining higher education, it has been my lifelong goal to eat as much pizza as humanly possible and determine which shop produces the most delectable product. Well, I can now say that the best pizza I have ever had is found at 3404 5th Ave. They make their own delicious crust and sauce. The food value is unsurpassed. I am almost disgusted when I try to eat pizza from another establishment. (Also recommended are the chicken salad and meatball sub with extra cheese. My goodness.)
