What People Are Saying About Hemingway's Cafe

In Short – While it's doubtful that Papa Hemingway would have deemed the cafe rough-and-tumble enough for his tastes, that doesn't stop patrons from cramming into the back room to hear poetry, prose and fiction spoken by authors (both amateur and professional). The crowd consists of students, faculty and staff from the local universities, as well as anyone else with a literary bent. Besides offering a good cross-section of beers, Hemingway's serves plenty of affordable bar food.
Great Menu

Hemmingway's is known for its drink specials but has a great late night menu, 1/2 off too! It gets a little crowded but that's what you're there for.
Your typical college bar scene
by hineighbor
Students flock to Hemingway's nearly every night of the week. The design is very narrow, which means making your way to the back of the restaurant (to find the restrooms) could require some pushing and shoving. On busy nights, don't expect to move around. The food is quite good, and the beer specials are another great value. If you don't mind huge crowds, you'll surely find this bar enjoyable.
- Pros: Great specials, Good food
- Cons: Very crowded
