Even mancinis is better than that but for real bread you need to try Sanchioli Brothers Bakery in Bloomfield fresh and hearth baked for almost a century...actually has yummy crispy crust as opposed to Breadworks plastic tasting crap. No desserty breads though... this is a real Italian bread bakery
Love this bakery for its bread.
I travel to the Bakery to purchase great crusty bread at a reasonable price.
Breadworks have got the BEST BREAD IN THE COUNTRY. They are so good you won't get them anywhere else.
Keep it up !!!
BEST Bakery In Pittsburgh and Very Community Oriented. Breadwork's is very customer friendly. They go above and beyond to help, answer questions and get your order accurate. You will go very very far to find a better tasting bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly reccomend this wonderful bakery!
Bakery does not rise to the holiday occasion-opens later than normal. The day before a major holiday, Breadworks does not open as early as normally. Generally I love this bakery. I usually stop on my way to work around 7 a.m. Unfortunately, I stopped today, the day before Thanksgiving, to pick up some items my family adores only to discover that this day they do not open until 8 a.m. Once at work, I telephone to ask them to please hold a focaccia bread for me. They told me they were not doing same day orders today either. Sooo, not only could I not stop in early as I normally do to pick up my purchases, buy they would not even hold one for me and they said that is was very unlikely that they would have one left by the time I got off work. I was not the only customer there expecting to purchase their holiday fare. If anything, one should open ealier before a holiday, not later.
Best bread in Pittsburgh.
I absolutely LOVE this bakery! You simply cannot go wrong with any of the offerings. The chocolate babka is a recent favorite and only made 3 times a year (Valentines, Mothers, unsure of the third). The italian loaves, crocks and rolls are of the highest quality. I usually buy more than I need and freeze the rest. When I need more I simply put it in the oven on 200 degrees and let it defrost. Not only do I have wonderful bread, my house also smells wonderful.
Not only is this bakery quality, the prices can't be beat.
Heavy Corn Rye Bread.
On a regular basis I travel to the Bakery to purchase Heavy Corn Rye Bread. It is only made on Saturday.
Several weeks ago I made my normal trip to find that a customer came in earlier that day and purchased 22 Corn Rye Breads and that was the entire inventory. That was a very poor business decision to sell the total inventory, full well knowing that the bread is only made on Saturday. Customers travel to the Bakery on Saturday specifically to purchase this bread. . all were disappointed that day, for sure. The Bakery should either make the bread on one (1) other day of the week as well as Saturday or never sell all of the breads to one customer. Otherwise, the breads at the bakery are very good and the service is excellent.
Best Bread in the Burgh. This bakery rocks. Good fresh bread; that's all they do and they are the best. The raisin walnut is to die for. Their saltsticks are delicious too. It's just the "Best Bread in the Burgh" period.
